My best friend had a baby 1 year ago. While I was in the delivery room I heard her husband make a comment, he said that the baby is probably another guys(some guy she was in love with for 4 years, while she was married). Of course he laughed as he was kidding. Now the child does not look like her husband whatsoever, I mean it is like he has no jean of her husband. Now her husband has been saying to the child "I don't know who your daddy is, maybe he is a chinese man that your mom slept with, etc etc etc. But that is not the fact, she didn't sleep with a chinese man, but I am wondering if her husband is doing this because he is not sure within himself if the child is his or not. What do you think? Her husband also don't pay a lot of attention to the child, he was excited in the beginning, but now it is like he don't want no part of it. (he is very responsible as in buying for the child and supporting it, but he don't want any part of taking care of him,

Sounds like he has low self esteem and has anger issues with the mother. Guy should talk to a professional, even getting a paternity test ain't gonna help this whack-o

He may have his doubts. A lot of fathers leave most of the caregiving up to the mother. He could have been truly just joking. I'm sure he loves his son whether he shows it or not. Even if it turned out that the sperm used in the process of concieving the boy turned out not to be his, he would still love him. Some people are just more old fashioned than others. My family is like that. I'm a stay-at-home mother (with an education) and I cook, clean, and raise children while my husband works and watches television. I like it this way. Maybe when the child is older he will be more interested in taking him out for a game of catch. Some Men just don't like babies as much as women. I wouldn't worry to much about it if I were you. It isn't even your business unless your friend asked you your opinion.

That is sad and if he isn't sure all he has to do is just take a paternity test. Not all children have to favor in looking like either parent. Looks alone do not confirm if a child is your or not. He could be wasting time bonding w/ this child instead of having doubts.

how dare he take it out on the child, the poor baby did nothing but be born. if he is that unsure about it maybe he should fork out the $500 dollars for the DNA test and get it done, then he would know for sure. plus mom and dad need to get in to marriage counseling. the only way they will make it through all this is with a lot of help. please for the sake of the kid tell them to get the help they need.

Sounds like they maybe need to sit down and talk because there seems to be some trust issues here. Sometimes, kids look nothing like the parents, it's weird.

I was a nanny to triplets, and they all looked totally different. One was blond haired and fair skinned, another had brown hair and dark eyes, the third had extremely dark skin and black hair. He looked Mexican and both his parents were fair skinned Italians.

I think the man is abusive and deserves to have a swift kick in his bits. He is cruel, and I don't know how any woman would allow a person to be so mean to the child.

If he wants to know, there should be a paternity test. But it should not be necessary--a father is the person raising a child, not the sperm donor.

ok first of all he shouldnt put his hurt and doubt out on the child stuff like that can cause mental issuses and self conflict for the child in the future. i think he should talk to the mother and ask he to answer honestly if she cheated on him b4 she got pregnant and if her answer is not wat he wants to hear or he does not believe her he can kindly ask her to get a paternaty test. but i really think since he has self doubt even tho most children start out lookin like no one but gain characteristics of reletives and parents as they grow up he shouldnt put the babii into this at all its not the babii's fault

emotional abuse is the worst kind, this man needs to grow up and realize what effect he will have on his son. more importantly is is not the child's fault
