It's a wonderful way to worship and praise God. He tells us the angels and martyrs and all the saints will be singing in heaven about Him and all He has done. David's life alone with the sheep consisted of composing and singing songs of praise to God from the time he was very young. Those psalms served him well later in life, when he wrote many more as he went through trials and victories. They have been preserved for us through the years and serve us by teaching us how to have a right relationship with the Lord, how to pray, how to praise, how to rejoice and glorify God. I love to sing to the Lord, at church or at home (and I really don't sound very good) because it lifts my own spirit as I lift Him high in praise.

Well, if people are enjoying it there's sure to be someone who finds it wrong.
Personally, the hymns are among the few things I remember with a warm heart from my childhood church-going, and some I still listen to today.
Also, to be honest, isn't church the only place most people can sing without being told to 'keep it down' or have some fool pretend to be a howling dog near you? Well, with my voice that's been my experience, lol!
Best wishes :-)

I actually enjoy some of the hymns. My brother sings some with his gospel band too, and I'll still be caught singing along.
Please don't kick me out of the atheist club for this!

It is a sad state of affairs when one has to ask this question. Tsk Tsk
I think its great as the great hymns doth magnify the Lord. We actually get to sing one or two on Sundays now.

I think some of the hymns that have been written and sung are the most beautiful songs ever.

Liturgy links one to the past & helps retain a foundation. They should have A place, but not THE place...meaning, they serve a purpose but should also make room for modern music alongside it.

I would imagine it goes over there better than it would at the corner tavern.
