'Who created thee, then perfected thee, then proportioned thee aright?'

This is a quote from the Koran, and is from a passage dealing with the last days.

'So let man consider of what he is created.'

This is also a quote which is from a passage which is considering creation, and finishes with the following:

'Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile).'

If I understand it correctly, taken together Allah wishes to give his creation a chance to ponder their place in creation, and ponder how they have lived, so that they may come to acknowledge Allah, and worship him, so that they will be saved in the Day of Judgment.

I speak as a Catholic, but hope I have understood correctly these passages from the Koran.

Created? My parents.

Perfected? I'll let you know when that happens.

Proportioned aright? Have you seen my photos? It is to laugh -- or cry.

Man (and woman) are empty of inherent existence, that is to say that we arise due to causes and conditions, which, given the need to cultivate a calmer mind in the present moment makes what created us rather moot.

I was created by God, and He wants me to accept His Son Jesus Christ as my Savior, repent of my sins, and live my life for Him, trying to be as much like Jesus as is humanly possible. I was created from the dust, and to dust I will return, my earthly body that is. My soul will go to be with Him for eternity. All of this I find very humbling. To think that Jesus would die for me & YOU !
