Does your dog know all the basic obedience commands? If not then do those first. I rarely teach my dogs tricks except to impress people as to how easy it is to teach a dog anything. One of my dogs knows over 75 commands and words. Among those are about half dozen tricks.

1.Sit
2.Shake
3.Drop
4.Roll over
5. Stay..

1.When teaching your god to sit, hold a treat in ur hand and bow ur head with the treat.

2.When teaching your god to shake, tap his paw untill he/she lifts it up then shake while saying shake. Eventually he/she will get the hang of it.

3.Teaching your god to roll over is nearly the same method as teching it to sit, put the treat to the ground as you bow your head say drop.

4.When you teach your dog to roll over, prentend your drawing a circle in the air with the treat and the dog head will follow. If it doesnt roll over give him/ her a push untill he/her rolls over.

5. Teaching your dog how to stay is one of the most easiest. All you need to do is get your dog to sit, then face your hand, showing your the plam of your hand, infront of the dogs face. Then slowly walk away saying stay..... and keeping your hand up. Make sure your dog can still see your face the whole time. After you have walked away about 6-10 metres call your dog over and give him/her a treat.

After doing all these tricks give your dog a treat and a pat for a reward.

Once your dog has learned all those steps you might be able to teach him some others eg. hi 5, hi 10 and fetch.

~~!!GOOD LUCK!!~~

I have a german shepard with a adhd problem. The easiest trick was to teach him to sit. Id hold a treat in my hand then say sit and push his bum down then repeated sit then gave him his treat. i did it over and over for about a week and now he knows when i say sit he does it. Then the next trick was give me paw. I did the same thing with a treat and grabed his paw. I did that over and over for about a week and now he does it on command. He still hasnt got the lay down thing right yet haha.

Sit
Stay
Come
Lie Down
Up
Down
Dance

Dance if one of our favorites. Get your dog to stand on its hind legs, hold a treat over its head, and make a circle, as the dogs follows the treat in a circle say "Dance" pretty soon your dog will for a treat without you having to make the circle.

Good traing treats are popcorn and dries waffle pieces.
Have fun!

our dog will sit on her hind legs, we then pretend to shoot her with our finger and she'll fall over and play dead! she loves the attention.
she also says her 'prayers' when asked and then lie down and pretend to sleep.
