The Church is against the use of contraceptive and abortion.
Contraceptives say "No" to the Holy Spirit ... and abortion say's "No" to life in which the Church wants freedom in both the Holy Spirit and Life.

I have never understood the contraception thing. Where in the Bible does it say that all sperm are holy. Clearly the female counterpart isn't or we wouldn't be so cranky every month and we have far fewer to work with.
Abortion is morally wrong. Period. Perhaps an argument can be made that one shouldn't bring a deformed child into the world, I can buy that but medical science isn't exact enough to make that call yet (my cousin was supposed to have Downs syndrome and he's perfectly healthy.) HOWEVER, it is better to provide people with choices. That's why God created free will. God let abortions be possible, the government can let them be possible and it is the choice of the individual woman to be moral or immoral.
I am a Christian. These are my thoughts.

well, contraceptives is taken by people to eliminate the chance of getting pregnant which gradually damages an individuals body and chemical hormones....and abortion is simply killing a baby...and both things are done so people having "sin" in them can go against god's nature...but guess what if u have sexual intercourse..u should deal with the consequences of it too...plus, according to 1st Timothy chapter 2 verse 15 it says that women are saved through childbearing...therefore both contraceptives and abortions are not from god...these things are invented to slow down the number of children being born...there arent many american kids anymore being born per year...if u think about it.every other race pretty much believe in having children...so may god give us all the spiritual wisdom and understanding...and its all in the bible...

No, neither is permissible. Although personally I think contraceptives are okay, the Church teaches they are wrong because they prevent human life from forming, which is one of the gifts God gave us through our sexuality. The church also teaches that abortion destroys human life, which is a mortal sin that can detach us from God unless we sincerely repent.

Strictly speaking, no.
Abortion is definitely a sin. As for contraceptives... It has been rumored that other religions do not use birth control sepcifically so there will be a population boom of their religion, while Christians are not populating normally, and will therefore be extinct... Food for thought -- as I said -- it's been rumored.

If we have been taught that they are against the word of God, and interfering with the value of life and with God's will, then I think it would be wrong. At the same time, if I did, I would not judge others for their actions on this. We are not supposed to second guess the word of God, or rationalise not following it, although there are sometimes cases where it is can be hard for us to understand why it would be the wrong thing to do. Good luck.

Here's the thing. Exodus 20.13 says, "thou shall not kill." Having an abortion just because you don't want pregnancy is a crime, even if the gov't doesn't like it. God is the one that forms the child in the mother's womb, not doctors or the gov't. King David explains it in Psalms 139.13-15.

I'm on BC for health reason's...not to kill a child. if i happen to get prego before i wed...then I'll be an adult and deal with responsibilities (but i wont because I'm not having sex till I'm married). BC and abortions shouldn't even be put on the same level because they are not the same.
