first you need to know it takes 30 days from the begging to the end of the cycle of a blemish. There is no fast remedy. Maybe they might dry up a little faster. If you are picking at these zits, then you could expect more to erupt. The reason Why? These zits are caused from excess bacteria in your pores and when you pick it, the watery stuff and white stuff is a small mass of clumpy bacteria and your just spreading it into to another pore and it will eventually cause you to break out more. I can't stress enough, not to pick your pimples. It also leads to scaring. Just do a spot treatment on it with salicylic acid in it. One you could try is by Sheisdo and they have different tones to match your skin. Make sure to wash and moisturize your skin 2x a day.

Acne is caused by 4 processes, all going on at the same time:

1) disorder of keratinization - This means that the outer layer of skin cells are somewhat sticky, and plug up pores.
2) Overgrowth of bacteria in the follicular (hair) unit
3) Sebaceous (oil) gland activity - this is responsive to hormon fluctuations, which is why acne worsens with menstruation or with stress
4) inflammation - the body's immune system sends in immune cells to fight the other 3 processes, which is what results in big red tender bumps.

It is not caused by:
1) diet (chocolate, soda, potato chips)
2) dirt
3) toothpaste deficiency

Treatment of acne has to target one or multiple of the 4 processes that cause it. If you are looking for over the counter treatments, then I would recommend:
1) Neutrogena acne wash - contains salicylic acid that helps free up pores.
2) Benzoyl peroxide - kills the bacteria, and helps unclog pores. Oxy-10 is an example.
3) Creams with retinol - help reduce oil gland activity

BUT... none of these things are fast. They all take a while to work. Things that dermatologists can prescribe are more effective, but nothing is that fast. Just about every medication used to treat acne takes AT LEAST 2 weeks to begin working.

Hope that helps.

The cause of a "zit" or pimple is a black head the cause of a backhead is dirt...despite what people say you should pop a zit and squeeze out the blackhead...if you dont want to pop or squeeze then wash once a day normally and then use a moist squeezed out hot towel, that is to say soak a towel in very hot water then lay down and after squeezing out all the water place the towel over your face pressing down enough so that the towel gets mostiure to your entire face...
this will work to stop all acne, grease and such
wash and moisten once a day, then towel dry

There is no solution. You have to use proactive or acne free. I talked to a dermatologist and they said the toothpaste thing is a lie and doesn't work. I tried putting lemon juice on my zits and it helped them go down a little bit. Good Luck.

Rub lemon juice to get the redness out and the zit will dry up much faster than anything else. Use some toner if you have, that should help too.

Don't use Proactiv. (it does work but you have to be really patient). Instead use Neutrogena for Acne. The pimples disappear very fast and there are no scars left to be seen. Good luck with that.

Give yourself a facial. Here's how: http://www.ehow.com/how_2564_give-yourself-facial.html

It will help open up your pores to the stuff inside can come out.

The other thing you can try is a blemish stick or spot treatment. e.g. Desert Essence Blemish Stick w/ tea tree oil, Neutrogena, BeneFit
