It is status quo. Lou Dobbs did not do anything. It was the American people. I certainly did not want an open border even though I am strongly in favor of helping the illegals somehow.
Congress better start finding a way to secure the border, now . Or start getting ready to retire.

Yes, Dobbs definitely played a role in exposing it to the mainstream. The Internet exposure on the matter didn't hurt either. But I really believe that all of us ordinary citizens who took time to write, phone, fax and email our senators every single day are the real reason for this awesome victory!! Our fury over this situation made it very clear that we are not brainwashed by all their lies and distortion of the facts. Bush honestly believes that average American citizens are nothing but stupid peons/serfs and that our opinions don't count. We showed him differently!!! Bush is such an elitist... He is so arrogant that he thought this was a done deal. I think he was shocked that he didn't get his way, and I love it!!! I am so elated that this horrible bill is DEAD!!!
