One that focuses on alleviating the impacts to US citizens from illegal immigration and stopping it going forward would be a good start. Those weren't even addressed in this bill, granted that the 'border security' was almost universally already law.

What about this alternative?

1. Control the border NOW.
2. Instead of offering a path to citizenship, do a background search on the 12 million illegals. For those that don't pass, send them back. For those that do, give a guest worker ID, give them an international drivers license (not a state one ... too easy to use them to vote), and charge a 7.5% guest worker tax. This tax would be used to help fund the hospitals that are going bankrupt from use by illegals, and help fund border security.
3. Any illegal that's out of a job for 90 days has to go back.

Go after the employers. The immigration bill only treated the symptoms. Punishing the people who hire illegal immigrants is the cure.

Oh, and get rid of work visas.

The alternative is to actually enforce the laws that we have on the books now.

The best alternative is enforcing the laws we already have. That would solve the immigration problem, and the criminal immigrant problem.

Aggressively enforce the laws currently on the books.
The House is working on legislation to secure our borders, penalize employers to a greater extent, and refuse amnesty to illegal aliens. Theirs is a better bill.

Pack em up and get rid of the criminal scum. Just sweep em out of the fields, the motels and the barrio's. If they won't go peacefully then we need to reinstate chain gangs and work camps. If the scum want to work in the US so badly, let em really give something back instead of the constant take.
