I must be honest i do like the cookery programmes i find them both entertaining and amusing, plus they give you great ideas what you can cook for tea, but i must say your right about the reality programmes there are far too many of them on the TV, i am sure they could do some more interesting programmes if they tried, which would not cost them a great deal, and why oh why do we have to put up with so much sport too.

There are so many channels available that it's usually easy to find something I like on TV. I do most of my TV watching in the evening after supper.

I don't watch many reality shows. They're so silly for the most part.

I do like some of the cooking shows. One of my favorite's is Paula Deen. She has some darned good recipes and is so much fun to watch! Another cooking show I like is "Take Home Chef", because Curtis Stone is a hottie. Heh heh. I like "Unwrapped" too, because it's interesting to see how different things are made. And "Good Eats", 'cause of the scientific stuff he shows. I used to watch Emeril almost every night, but got tired of him.

I also like some of tthe shows on HGTV that show room makeovers like "Design on a Dime" and "Mission Organization".

There's a few rather oddball shows I like, such as "Dr. G - Medical Examiner" and "Skeleton Stories".

If all else fails and I wanna watch TV and can't find anything good on, I'll flip to "TV Land" or the "SciFi" channel.

Does anyone REALLY watch C-Span?

No I luvvvvv programs on the Food Network like : Every Day Italian with Giada De Laurentis . I also like Take Home Chef on TLC and Top Chefs.
There are always techniques to learn that are different than my own or variations on my own recipes. If I get bored with certain shows like Rachel Ray's ; I just tune out.

No, there is not too much food on tv. Now, tennis, football, snooker etc is far too long. I mean, how come BBC has to have tennis running on 2 channels simultaneously? Vote with your feet I say. Or your off button. If you do not like it. Turn it off! (But only for those sports programmes!!!!) If we keep turning over, or off, perhaps those powers that be might take a hint! I am looking forward to digital (except for buying a new television) when I can find more cookery programmes!!

The only cookery outfit worth watchin is anything concerning/containing James Martin (sweet). That boy can do things with sugar that really would make anybody's mouth water, and he's a bit of eye candy as well. The other shows are a lot of nonsense, rehearsed, dishonest phone ins, etc etc.

To be honest I used to be glued to the "food channel" now I've given it up...along with the "reality shows" I never did watch them...but I did enjoy the "dancing with the stars" but you asked about food...LOL....I still watch once in a while....not like I used to when it was new....if I HAD..to watch that channel I do like Elton Brown because he gives like a science lesson along with the food he is showing how to cook. So it's like getting an education at the same time....I think any subject can give you a "burn out" ....they seem to overdo lots of things on TV....I hope they continue the food shows on the travel channel that way you get to see the people who eat the food from other countries...and realize how lucky we are to have so much here...we are blessed....enough from this Mama...
enjoyed your question....Mama Jazzy Geri

I love the cooking channel and cooking tv I also love the do-it-yourself channels. PBS has wonderful shows on this stuff. I like to watch and learn. I'm not sick of it. I love it. At least it doesn't have naked woman and cursing all the time. You can sit down with kids and not worry what there going to see.

I am sick of the reality shows but not the cooking shows.
I am on antenna, not cable or dish, so don't get many shows period.
The ones that are on are good, though.
Maybe you just have too many shows to pick from.
I don't really watch TV too much, this is much more entertaining!

I love the cooking shows. I especially love "Unwrapped"-not really about cooking, but history and culture. I also like "Good Eats"-gets into the science and chemistry of food.
