Thank you to all who have answered my first question. The answers gave me a lot to think about. But they made me think of another question... Some of the "non-believers" said that they are tired of the "Christians" shoving their beliefs down their throats (and I can understand that). But then why do the "non-believers" read and answer so many Religious & Spiritual questions? ( I'm really not trying to be ugly - I am truely curious)

Because I enjoy intelligent conversation. Sometimes I find it on these things, and sometimes I just encounter a bunch of idiots. It's about 50/50.

I like talking about religion because I'm genuinely interested in people. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that I would try to understand other people's beliefs in order to better understand them and their actions.

In today's world, especially, it's important to understand religion because it plays a large roll in many people's lives, and whether we like it or not, we "non-believers" must deal with them on a daily basis.

Hope that helped :)

Sorry I missed your 1st question. I've studied quite a few religions in significant detail, so I'm qualified to answer as I can, within the parameters of that religion, or give my pov and refute things... depending on how the question's worded. I respect people who believe as they do, but I'm always up for a bit of answering a question when asked. Just because I'm atheist doesn't mean I don't know anything. Doesn't mean I DO know anything either... you'll just have to take your bets or ignore me.

I think it's a good question and it's valid.
If we didn't get involved then how could anyone make a balanced decision? Think about it. If all you had was theists answering questions how would you know any other perspective? You would only get a polarized view of everything. That does little to help anyone make a good decision on religious issues.
Theists know this and they fear it. The more balance that comes into the arena the harder it is for them to sell their beliefs.

There is a huge difference between answering questions ABOUT religion and imposing any religion on the rest of society.

I agree. But they are here because they might be interested, looking for easy posts, or just getting their information in. I mean, this section is for people of all religions to talk, and the athiests are people and have a say too.

Everyone is a believer whether they say so or not. Everyone has the thought in the back of their mind "What if?" Some people just like to believe they are in control of their own destiny. God still loves them and you no matter what.
