Hi Lisa:
don't bother about their "hatetriotism". You should had take the "fat" remark out of your question. do .. in order to get sane Americans to answer your question.
The vast majority of the Americans that I know are not like that. They are smart and caring people that realize that rich people get richer screwing around everybody regardless where they come from...
And the woman was right they are Americans working in small farmers up in Northern Cal. But the large ones, South of San Francisco, employ mostly immigrants.
P.S. To those American farmers that can't find I job go to Southern Cal..there is plenty.
a History note: Americans are all the people born in America... (North, South, Central), A greater number of people in South America have more "Native American blood" than any white person in the States even if their family came with the Mayflower...In Spanish we call you "Estadounidenses". this is your chance to get a name of you own.

Well said cathy e
If you go into the emergency room you will see people that don't have health insurance using the emergency as 1st line of medical treatment ( Hospitals aren't suppose to refuse anyone that go to the emergency rooms )
The waits are 8 hours or longer while I can't say everyone is illegal I'm sure there are many that aren't
As far as the fat American comment. Every American ( legal )person whether they are fat, skinny, black, white or whatever
Did Just Fine without Illegal Immigrants we have been around for more than 200 years it's just corporate greed that has gotten in the way.

Whoa..I'm 5 feet tall and weigh 98 lbs.
I'm not fat and I don't want them legalized.
Now, I'm over being facetious.
My extended family owns two farms in two states.
For generations, the policy of both has been simple.
No illegal alien will be employed at either farm.
Both are profitable. Neither have had any difficulty in obtaining hired help when needed. How was this possible? Pay Americans a decent wage.

From your message, you don't like white people and don't have regard for our laws. Did you ever stop to think we grew food in America before Mexicans started illegally entering our country by the thousands? We are willing to do the work ourselves. But, when illegals come here and work for a low wage, Americans will not be paid what the job is worth. Then, you complain about being exploited. Your sneaking into our country and being willing to work for nothing is the cause of your exploitation. We know the illegals are taking our social services, closing down hospitals, getting free schooling, etc, while Americans have to pay for it for you. The cheap labor employers are the only winners in this. We know you work for cash instead of paying taxes. We know you use false identification. Come here legally and we will welcome you. Steal your way into America, break our laws, make us pay the hospital bills for your babies being born, and we just want you to go home. That is not unreasonable.

Hmmmm...Do a lot of illegal immigrants who work for nothing have computers and Yahoo! Answer accounts? I don't believe you are a field worker but if you were I would tell you that if you are going to sneak into this country you are a criminal, therefore not entitled to complain about the poor working conditions and low wages. America not all you hoped it would be for you? Guess what, if you came into the country LEGALLY you wouldn't be working as a day laborer for peanuts. Go back to Mexico and try to make a life for yourself there. If that includes learning PROPER English and trying later to re-enter America LEGALLY, go for it. But don't expect us to hand you the life we have worked our butts off for.

Why do you assume anyone who wanted the immigration reform bill stopped is Fat? And why do you assume you feed me? Last time I checked my garden, I didn't have any people working in it other than my own family, and I grow most of the vegetables and fruit I consume. I cook my own meals and clean my own toilets, so don't try those arguements either.
What do you get - education (including college grants) paid for by MY taxes, free or low cost medical care, paid for by MY taxes, the ability to live in this country, which some have lost their lives for and others wait in line years for.
Do you realize that there are Veterans of this country who fought for this country that don't qualify for Medicaid? Do you realize that there are legal citizens who can't afford to send their children to college because they don't qualify for grants and they don't make enough money to qualify for outside loans?
I have no problem with legal immigration. I would support congress increasing the quotas for legal immigration to bring in qualified workers to this country. I can't abide people who disregard our laws, fly the flag of their "country" even though it's not doing a darn thing to help them out and have the audacity to call me racist because I expect them to abide by the law.

Because the staples are generated on grain farms, not produce farms. As long as combines are still around, we will have wheat, corn and cotton. The reason that illegals get hired at all is because that way corps can get cheap products. If you all went away and took your crime and theft with you, we would have $5 strawberries. I am more than willing to pay $5 for strawberries if it means that my kids don't have to go to bilingual school, I don't get stuck in a line of people getting free medical care because they don't want to pay for health care, and my property is still worth what I paid for it because "guests" didn't move in across the street and let the house go to heck, then yeah..
What do you get? free health care, free school, cheap housing (when you have 50 people in a house, it's dirt cheap), exception from the law (if I snuck into mexico I would be in jail), shall I continue?

Nobody is forcing anybody to work on the farms, they ARE NOT obligated to accept low wages, so if somebody is not happy with those conditions they are more than welcome to go back home, they don't go back 'cause they are better here even with those conditions than back home with nothing. Immigration issues are very complex and very serious, I know that. My point is, You can not point fingers on American people since they are not the ones they didn't drag anybody from anywhere to work under certain conditions.
btw, illegal immigrants are not skinny and athletic either.

You are going to get bashed (not by me). But I support your thoughts even though I might not agree that all Americans are fat, i'm not. I know almost all of the Mexican legal/illegal immigrants are good people and hardworking North Americans.

Too many illegal immigrants = an invading army
But the US is so caught up in not wanting to appear racist that they're willing to sacrifice the whole country just to avoid the bad press that comes with the accusation.
