i have a 1990 nissan but i have to add water every time i use it what could be??

sounds like ur water pump and housing

could be a number of things first check that it is not going in the oil sump check if the hoses are not leaking or radiator has not got any pin holes check under pressure ; check that water pump is not leaking; apart from that take it to a radiator specialist;; it may be a blown head gasket or a cracked head

your hoses are probably shot. that is an older car.
