You will have all the free time you need. It has been many a year since I was in. Even deployed on the ship overseas it was like a 8 to 4 job. Way back in the days of iron men and wooden ships we did not have TV and never heard of a video game. There were some really old movies on the mess decks every night. I learned so many card games I can't remember them all. Even when we were on plane guard duty we played cards.
I ended up with less free time after I got out. I got a job, got married, had kids and discovered my weekends were when I got to mow the lawn, take the wife shopping and all that fun stuff.
I should have stayed in the Navy and spent half of my life in some other part of the world.
Only kidding, I think.

Yes you'll have free time. None in basic though, and not much in training afterwards. But once you get to your 1st duty station, yes.
You will have pt daily, usually right before or right after work. There will also be some days/ weeks you are in training and no you wont have free time then (depending on your job of course), but for the most part yes, you'll have free time daily. Once you go home at the end of the day you're free.

After you get out of basic and AIT, you work a pretty normal day usually. PT early in the morning. First formation 8-9 am, and usually quitting time around 5pm. Then you are free for the rest of the night, and have weekends to yourself. There are interruptions to this schedule like guard duty, and field training, or deployment.

In Germany during the age before computers it was hit the clubs and discos after final formation. All we had to do was be back by first formation and ready for P/T.
We had weekends off when not in the field or unless you had C/Q or staff duty. We could travel, drink, and party. In those days a lot of guys were into "Dugeons and Dragons." Now I imagine it is computer games.
Of course Iraq I'm sure kind of precludes a lot of traveling but I imagine the Army does not screw with your free time.

you have 30 days of paid vacation... or as the military calls it leave... and whether or not PT is day in day out depends on what job in what branch
but technically the military kind of owns your time, so I don't know if you can consider it free time because if they call you back you are going back no matter what you have planned... even up to four years after you served your sentence... i mean enlistment... not sentence, military is a honorable profession, that provides many opportunities for young people, and I think everyone including me should serve two years!

Not in basic training it's like a 9-5 job and when you come back to the bays your dog tired. The only free time you get is over the weekends and no there are no video games. You'll have time during the weekends to write letters and relax and chill with your fellow soldiers until it's chow time. And it depends on the phase your in, in red phase you get escorted by drill seargants to chow in blue phase you don't see the dill seargants as much you'll be escorted by a leader from your platoon.

During basic training the answer is NO. Once you get to your first duty station the answer is YES. You will have to work a normal duty day and depending on what your career is it will be between eight and twelve hour shifts and the rest of the time is yours to do with what ever you want to do. You will also have days off depending once again on your career choice. It could be a three on and three off cycle, or any other combinations. Don't worry, you will have time off, even if you head over to one of the hot zones in the Middle East.

When you are not on duty you have all the free time you need. The military, with the exception of actual combat is a regular 9-5 job!

DUDE you dont even want to know. I think you will find more gamers in the military then any where else in the world. Yea you do get free time, it all depends on your job too. But they take care of you and give you alot of free time when it is possible. But be ready also to work long hours when it is needed too.

Forget about video games, there is no such thing. When I was in there is very little free time , except for a hour or two after the training day, and 1/2 day on Sundays.
