The Light? or The Dark?

When it is light, I appear dark, being the surface that partially absorbs light and turns it dark. When it is dark, I appear to glow, so that somehow I become a flashlight in the night. Whatever I embrace, I become its opposite and am thus engulfed. Does the sperm penetrate the egg, or does the egg engulf the sperm? It is all in your vantage point; it is with this thought I realized an important part of the power of being female. The first idea came as I sat in the fork of a tree near midnight and had a vision. The vision was engulfing, or perhaps I just penetrated a barrier...who can tell? Light and dark, one cannot be without the other--ease is simply the force of entropy in a locality, ever-changing, flipping signs when you rearrange the particular Maxwell differential equation...ok, I'll stop before I go off too far into tangential thought. Rambling--the specialty of the day!

Oh, but the dark is merely varying shades of light. To embrace one is to embrace the other simultaneously.

It's the reaction to the light or the dark that is embraced, really. And that would depend on the individual's comfort level with the situation and energy. Have they learned to embrace love and laughter or fear and hate? When they react and embrace one or the other what do they then do with that energy?

They should both be appreciated for thier beauty. On the first day, GOD created light. Meaning before that there was darkness upon the void. Which if one can give thought can be the truest light. Knowing that all lights stemmed from that light(of thought). The light of the earth, the light of the stars, the light of the sun, etc. All this came from a light that many can not give credit to because that light consists of nothing but thought granted alhumdulillah. So in an essence, one can view it as light upon light. Only by thought if one choose to give it. The light of Dark is there to embrace and grant you comfort when you sleep at night. Or when you are with your significant other just staring into the heavens at night. The Light of Day is there to embrace a new begginning already written. As the light of a new born child shines on the faces of thier proudly new parents(if they have hearts, ugh). Peace!

The Dark is easier, everyday choices in our lives are not cut out in sets of "light" & "dark" - to be easily chosen. Dark is always there in many forms- is thru choosing the dark that many times we find the light- one after all does not exist without the other.
It is the way in the Universe, as it is within each human being.

Depends on what time of day it is. (spiritually AND practically speaking)
"..some need to pray to the Sun at high noon, some need to howl at the midwinter moon.." The 24 hour cycle represents one of the natural rhythms of human consciousness. This cycle involves an alternating rhythm of light and dark(both are necessary) in physical terms and in psychological and spiritual terms. During the day you embrace the light, at night you embrace the dark.(unless you're going to chase the sun around the world in an attempt to stay in the light perpetually ;-)

Interesting set of answers....."Darkness" makes itself more easily available....no matter how we tell ourselves that we embrace the "light", the "good", the "positive", often when a situation comes up, Fear walks out of the darkness, whispers in your ear, and seduces you.... if not properly trained in how to give Fear a swift kick in the rear, things like Sorrow and Mistrust find an easy in, once Fear is done doing his thing, and it becomes harder to see the whole with clarity, to see the light waiting at the end of the tunnel for you to walk through the darkness, and find it.... Darkness and Light are far more subtle than "black and white" or "good and evil"..... and they are a team, if we wish to acknowledge that or not....

Most are afraid of the unknown, that which is hidden so I would say the light is easier for most to embrace.
I believe to walk a balanced life both must be equally embraced.

If, by embrace, you mean accept, they must both be embraced at once, since they define each other. If you know love, you have already befriended your darkest fears. If you know peace, it's because you've finally thrown down your sword in utter futility. If you know joy, it's only because you have plumbed the depths of your own bitter sorrow.

Freedom comes in a dance of opposites, when the dancers have embraced, and become the dance.

Each of us has been set upon a path designated to us by the ONE. We have been given our strengths, weaknesses and tendencies toward the light (good) or darkness (evil)

We are each perfectly created as ourselves. Perfect when we accept and be who we are.

It is when we attempt to do what is against our natural tendencies we find difficulties. If that tendency is evil (which many of the religious sect believe) then good is the hardest to embrace.

I think when we embrace ourselves for who we are...perfectly created to be just who we are...all things become easier.

it depends upon weather you are on the dark side or light side. if you are on light side then it would be easy to embrace light otherwise dark.

because if you are on light side then you can eliminate the dark but the darkness of the dark will again come when light will be gone
