It's Christianity isn't it? Isn't Christianity all about accepting Christ anyway regardless if it's Protestant or Catholic? Whether it's Fundamental/Conservative, Evangelical, or even Liberal in it's approach to the gospels? Or am I just naive?

Nothing. I appreciate liberal and progressive views within Christianity, myself. In any given denominational group, or even among individual believers, there will people with theological viewpoints ranging from ultra-conservative to ultra-liberal, with the vast majority lying somewhere in the middle. The good news is that there's room within Christianity for all of them.

Liberal Christianity rejects the Bible as authoritative, using man's wisdom and reason either in addition to, or instead of the Bible.

This is why the liberal denominations are going through turmoil. They've diluted the authority of the Scriptures, so that anything goes, and now they are dealing with church splits over gay clergy and the like.

Recently, a female Episcopal priest declared that she was a practicing Christian AND Muslim. How she can reconcile the two differing beliefs is beyond comprehension. This is especially so, since Islam rejects completely the idea that God can beget a Son.

In Islam, the Qur'an states rather clearly, "Proclaim: Allah is One. Allah is Eternal. He neither begets nor was begotten." (Surah 112:1-4)

In Christianity, we believe that Jesus was begotten. (John 1:14) Jesus clearly states that He is God: "Truly, truly I tell you, before there was an Abraham, I am!" (John 8:58)

But this priest feels she is somehow pleasing God with this syncretistic form of worship. Why? Because the authority of the Bible has been diluted.

Christianity is about accepting Jesus as your Savior and serving God. It is about doing things the way Jesus did, and from my study, I do not believe that Jesus was very liberal. He was very conservative in obeying his Father.

From my observations, bringing liberality into any religeous organization begins to weaken the principles that the organization was founded upon.

I think you are just naive.

Jesus was all about obedience. He did not have a hippy attitude...of hey whatever man!

Judaism is based on obedience...the very beginning of creation was about obedience...and sin came about through disobedience. So, I'd have to say "no" it does matter.

In our world everyone cannot just do what they want and interpret and live the laws according to their own ideas of what is right and wrong. We have a standard that all must live up to. God has a standard that we must live up to as well.
