I believe anything we put power into and completely believe in will bring results in our lives. I also think that some things that never made sense to me later to.

So while I personally haven't put that much energy into Feng Shui in my home, I've noticed that when my house gets cluttered, my life and brain are often the same. Not sure which one is the reflection of the other lol. Also, bizarre but true, when I'm in a good state my plants flourish, when I'm a mess they struggle or keel over, not matter how much I nurture them. So I do believe it's all tied in.

What I'm not certain of is if it has the desired effect because we believe it will and we are attracting that to ourselves, if it does have merit on it's own, or maybe most likely a comination of those factors.

I had bookmarked a site I found interesting though, as it compared what tradition Feng Shui believed versus what they call the "New Age" version of it. I kept hearing how these were tradition and centuries old beliefs, and looks like most aren't. You might want to check it out; http://www.qi-whiz.com/ There's more to the site too, w/tons of links on top and left side. So many concepts seem to be recently added--not passing judgement on that, but it is an interesting fact I thought.

I still think more than anything is the attitude you put into your home/life/anything. So if this is a tool that helps, then great. But for now my opinion is that what we are believing is what's having the strongest affect on us.

No. No reason to believe - every feng shui expert will tell you 'it's a science' and then turn around and recommend something completely different than the last guy. If it's a science, how come every time the result if different, and even contradictory?

i think our surroundings are important to our state of mind, that placement of objects in our homes can create a more harmonious feeling if they are arranged in a certain way. things like getting rid of clutter and making the place look right can help you feel more relaxed and comfortable but i don't think it goes beyond that. i don't believe that placement of things can promote wealth or health except in a really indirect way i.e. feeling comfortable and calm at home has a beneficial effect on other areas of your life.
personally if my place is a mess or i don't feel right with the way it's set out, i can feel more stressed out in general.
but i don't think there is a right and wrong way to do it, and no need for a consultant to come and do it for you. it's just a case of feeling comfortable and calm in your space by arranging it how it suits you.

Feng Shui is a great idea. However, a practitioner is typically required, and there are great differences in quality among them.
