I say better safe than sorry. Animals can be allergic to these things just like people. My kitty Jennifer was bitten by some sort of a desert insect and died within 24 hours. So you can understand why I take these things very seriously.
Monitor your kitty closely and be sure your vet has seen the kitty and stay in touch with him/her. This way you have someone to help you quickly should things take a bad turn.

My dog got stung once and his face swelled up like a balloon, but, he was OK. I called the Vet and he say as long as he not have some type of reaction other than the swelling, he probably be OK.
I would suggest you have a Vet, sometimes it just a phone call and it free.

Hornets or wasps will make a cat or a dog sick . Just keep an eye on the cat to make sure the cat will be ok.

Unless your cat is showing some sign of an allergic reaction, it will be okay. Just keep an eye on kitty. If you can locate the stinger, you might want to try and pull it out.

Vet immediately. The venom is more concentrated in smaller circulatory system. Especially if stung in soft tissue of lip, or foot pad.
