hoodoo, you can cast a "black spell" without fear of retribution? The whole concept of it coming back 3 times as strong to the spell caster doesn't apply in hoodoo. It's one of the difference (if few) between wicca and hoodoo.

That's why I'm not Wiccan. Well, one of the reasons. I just call myself Pagan. I don't believe in the rede or the law of three; those are scare tactics every bit as much as hell and sin. Doing what you think of as "black spells" are to me the righting of the balance. If something in my life is out of balance and if a particular person is responsible for it, I will do a spell to make it right. Whatever that entails.

Yes being that Wicca came from Europe and Hoodoo came from Africa. The salves incoropataed various types of magic into their hoodoo to include Native America, Pow Wow (Pennsylavania Dutch) and Wicca. Hoodoo also uses the Bible Psalms when doing spells. They do not believe in Karam or the three fold law. Many "practictioners" woudl do just about anything for a price. A great thing to lookup is a man called "Dr Buzzard" from Beaufort SC!!!

That may be, but you may still have to deal with someone you cast such a spell on (or thier friends, or thier family members) seeking revenge and retribution, there are other ways for the balance to be struck without chalking it up to "Karma", or some other form of cosmic punishment, if
"negative" magic is permitted in Hoodoo, that is not a liscense to do so, nor protection from repercussions or consequences. More of an acknowledgement that all things of this world are what you make of them, for good or ill, and if you send jealous, vengeful, or hateful, energy to someone else, you have no right to expect them to return anything other than that to you, they are not bound to hold back negative energy any more than you are, so go ahead and throw a nasty at someone if you want to, as long as you bear in mind that they could do likewise, and so could thier spouse, thier parents, thier friends, thier children, thier entire coven, and any number of other people who could get offended that you would do such a thing to one of thier own. While many Wiccans and Pagans believe in a law of 3, or the law of return, not *all* Wiccans or Pagans agree on what constitutes "negative" magic. Some consider any magic intended to harm another to be negative, while others have no problem at all weighing the rede when it comes to things like defending themselves or another from an attack, so do as you will, but if you wake up the next morning with your hands going numb, or unable to breathe, or in the middle of a huge streak of so called bad luck, then also be ready to accept responsibilty, suck it up, and deal with what you did, if you you did something to deserve it.

Cool, I like Hoodoo already :)

Magic has no color, the outcome of a spell (good or bad) is in the heart of the witch.
Magic is both because nature is both, loving a cruel, the gentle spring rain and the harsh tornado.

I stole that from a movie ^_^ lol

Yes, I was aware of that. I'm not a wiccan, but I am a witch and we don't believe there is such a thing as black magic.. magic has no color. I assume you mean the same, as you put it in quotations.

incorrrect.

the kick back of negative things like that is not something related to wicca, it is a metaphysical rule, sorta like in mundane physics, of each action having an equal and opposite reaction. but different.

edit: of course, the system isn't "blind" but is definitely not quite as simple as you represent it.

and i'd love to see any of those sorts try anything negative against me, get it shoved right back up their tailpipe, lol.

It doesn't come back three times. Traditional Wicca doesn't teach that.

Humm, I suspected, but didn't know for sure.

I don't cast spells myself, it's discouraged in my particular branch.

Poor lost souls, I have to pity you as I claim the blood of Jesus and that no weapon formed against me shall prosper!!! I must remind you all that you do have a choice to stop and repent because it is clear in Revelation 21:8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. and Also in Revelation 22:15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood...Thanks be to God that these sins can be forgiven, but one must confess first. I will pray that God be merciful to you in the end. Peace
