First of all, what makes you think she has lice? If you are in the US, the school will check her. She needs to know, and if you really do think what you are seeing is lice, then you need to let her know, because the more you are around her the more likely you will get it. If she has it probably someone in her house has it already or will.
I am wondering if maybe you are mistaken with something else. do a little research on the web for lice and treatment of lice and then you can make a better decision.

If you want to go about it without hurting her feelings, you can always create a story about how either you, or someone you know had it before or you have it now. Then tell her how "you" got rid of it, or how you plan to get rid of it. Then tell her that your mom says that anyone that you hang out with should check as well to make sure that they dont have it. That way she will think you are being helpful and friendly....and then help her to take care of herself....Maybe she's just very embarrased by the whole thing?

Okay, tell her mom! It doesn't matter if she doesn't like people touching her hair, because she's going to have to deal with it at some point. Plus, it sounds like she's had it for a while. They're probably all over the place now. She needs treatment, to comb out the eggs, and to spray her bed and any other cloth surfaces she may have touched.
It's not fun, no, and the treatment smells bad, but she really needs to deal with it and get treated.

Tell her before they end up to many girls and possibly you. Tell her to ask her mom to buy her some head lice shampoo to kill the lice then somebody to remove the lice out of your hair.

Oh my! what are you waiting for until it gets to you or it gets worse and pass it to everyone else. You must tell her right away hurry up now. She have to get head lice killing shampoo if she doesn't use that it's going to get even worser. Why would she mind you're telling her something good for her benefit and also for people who are around her so they don't catch it too. If you are her good friend you should go ahead and tell her don't worry about what she is going to think.

Um, yeah. I'd definantly tell her, and soon. If she's afriad to tell her mom why don't you go to the store with her and get the shampoo and help her. When I had it I was like... 4 or something, but I think she'll have to have someone help her comb it. Just think, if you had a problem like that wouldn't you want her to be a good friend and help you out?

If she actually does have lice, you must tell her - she could spread it all over her house and to everyone who lives there!
If she has some other hair condition, she needs to see a dermatologist ASAP.
