if you are directing your question to Christians ... can you not say " religious people "
because there are many more religions than just one
if you are directing your question to everyone outside of Christianity
can you not say " non believers "
because we all believe in something
just me ... tired of clicking on questions that I think are directed to me , only to find out that they aren't
it makes me sad :o(
anyone else irritated by this ?

I was just complaining about that on another question.
I guess part of the point IS that if they understood us they would not be asking the questions they do (whether real ones or mean ones).
At least we get to play twice as many drinking games! :)

I am sorry. Sometimes you guys do get left out. It isn't far at all is it? :(
I would never start a question out saying "religious people", I think that just sounds rude like you are asking for a fight don't you? I much prefer believer or non-believer..but even that upsets me, just because I am an Atheist does not mean that I believe in nothing. That would make for on very sad existence(no offense to anyone)

Christianity is not the only religion. In fact there are many religions calling themselves Christians; that are not the same.
We are told that America is predoninately Christian Because all of the denominations and sects who call themselves Christian are counted. This in no way reflects that the beliefs, dogma and ceremonies are any where near the same. There are many people who dont even go to a church that still say they are Christian. I think many of them are true Christians.

I know a lot of non-Christians who are very religious people. Non Christians are also believers. They just believe in something different. Try instead: "religious Christians or non-Christians" Sorry I'm neither sad nor irritated.

I agree. I try to include which group of Christians I'm asking a question of in the subject line. And while I do use the term "non believers" to mean non-Christians, or sometimes those who are not Christian, Jewish, or Muslim, I am most often using it when talking to Atheists and feel that since I'm talking to someone who doesn't believe in anything, I'm safe to refer to them as non believers. But I am guilty as charged when using the term believers to mean Christians or sometimes those who are Christian, Jewish, or Muslim. Sorry, I'll try to be more considerate. I try to only use the terms in my answers, but I'll try to at least be more conscientious about it.

That irritates me so much! Some people seem to think you are either Christian or Atheist. I've even seen people use the two terms interchangeably.

Isn't this at least your second favor request today? You're asking a bit much, don't you think? ; )
You are right, of course. It's a common error. I will comply, my liege (though I don't think I actually do that much myself).
But where were you when I was asking people to tell me my romantic future? I scratch your back, you scratch mine!

I'm irritated by this too.
Don't worry Pangel, I always make it clear who I'm directing a question towards.
