You remind me about my first job experience. I was a very shy & nervous 16 year old hired to work as a resturant hostess. Trust me, by the end of the first two weeks, you'll be just fine. It is natural to be nervous so instead try to focus on the positives; you'll make money, get job experience to put on your resume, and have the opportunity to hang out with classmates you may not talk to otherwise. All pretty cool things. Good Luck!

I think it is going to be hard for you to compete with adults in any economy, but a bad one like were in now will make it seem impossible. I have a home repair business and if my choices were between a minor and an adult the adult will win every time. Not saying any of that to discourage you, just letting you know what you already seem to I guess that you are in for a challenge. Try to look and act as mature as possible, don't use any slang, let them know that you need that job and that its not just some way to get some extra spending money, but that without that money you might be homeless. I always worked for my dad's heat and air business when I was a minor and didn't have to go through what you are so take my advice with a grain of salt I guess because I don't really know from experience

it's one of those things that will get easy as soon as you've done it a few times. Everyone makes a few mistakes when they try new things just forget about these things when they happen and you'll be fine. It's all in your head.
Also a study was done a long time ago where they took groups of like 6-7 people and put a person who acted like a complete ***#ole in them and a person who said little to nothing. After about 20 min. everyone had to rank who they liked in the group from most to least. It was unanimous everyone liked ***#ole more than the person who said nothing.
The point of this story is that you really can't say anything wrong even if you do people will still like you more than someone who was afraid to talk. So just be confident speak and good things will come.

Well if you cant talk to people, its going to be hard too keep the job.
Communication/ Team work is one of the most important things in a job.
You may seem nervous at first, but eventually most of your co-workers are going to someone you know and your going to be able to talk to them easily.
Try to get to know your co-workers I guess

I'm sure you'll do fine. Just relax about it. And when you're working, focus on the job. Be nice, smile, you'll do fine.
