i have found a lot of people using classmates.com...you can look on there and see if you know what school they went to...you dont have to join but you will have to if you want to talk for awhile...but if you just want to look to see if they are on there, it's free

Confidentiality laws limit certain kinds of info from being released. That does not preclude it from being stolen, of course, which is why you should not expect to find much online.
Yes, there are many free searches. There are accurate searches. I would not expect both in the same sentence.
And if the person is deliberately trying to keep from being found, that just makes it harder.

The mormons are extremely family oriented and keep meticulous family records, even if you are not mormon. My father did extensive family geneology searches on all our family and found this helpful even though we are not mormon. Try the nearest mormon library.
