Linz, thing is, a lot of Christians (I didn't say all) really push to have their religious beliefs turned into national laws. So, yes, we have to be the voice of the minority, or else the country becomes a scary theocracy. See?

As a non-Christian Theist I find I more often side with many of the Atheists (Atheist Agenda *giggle*) and Agnostics when it comes to politics.

In a representative republic an outspoken minority can protect the rights of the populous. Majority does NOT rule and I have no interest in having a "majority" opinion forced upon my life.

I've read the question and I can't say that it's all that offensive. The debates between atheists and believers in religion on Yahoo Answers sound like shouting matches between kids in junior high school, which, in many cases, they are. It's the equivalent of people screaming "I like vanilla, and anybody who likes chocolate is an idiot" or vice versa.

If you really want to debate religion, there are Usenet newsgroups, Yahoo discussion forums, and Google groups; trying to have a debate in a forum designed to get answers to questions is like crossing the Atlantic on a bicycle; you're using the wrong tool, tool.

Interesting interpretation, however I don't see it as such

That douche bag was preaching against people trying to make people agree with a point of view. But it was okay for her to preach that christianity is the right thing and we should agree with her. I guess that 's a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Why do atheists and just, people in genral that aren't christian care about religion and christianity?

When everyones rights are being altered and stripped merely to please a select group of people, thats wrong, its like takeing pork out of america because muslims or jews would be offended.

What the christians never seem to grasp is that we can't CHOOSE to believe, any more than we CHOSE to become atheists. We are COMPELLED to deny the existence of their god -- given the complete lack of evidence, it would be irrational and irresponsible NOT to!

If you believe her addition that she is just trying to figure things out I'd say she is just confused.

She needs to look up that pesky pascal's wager so she can understand why folks get upset so quickly about questions like hers.
