slight ocd...I thought I was just over organized, but doctors say I'm not...our dvd's, cds, wii games, have to be in abc order or I go nuts, our closet is "in order" and if something is out of place I have small panic attacks

No, I don't think so. Before I go to bed I check both the back and front doors several times to see if they are locked. I live in a house by myself. I think this checking is a bit excessive but not ritualistic. Doesn't OCD involve compulsive rituals that have no reason behind them, like washing your hands a hundred times a day or brushing your teeth 10 times on the left 10 times on the right etc etc.

When my life took me down to an all time low and i was suffering with anxiety and depression i had ocd really bad. It usually came along just before or after an panick attack. Window checking, door locking, opening, locking again. Taps, turning them so much the seal would break. Checking the freezer/ fridge loads of times in case i had left it open. God, it was awful. My friend washes her hands so much they are all cracked. It is a really hard thing to deal with. So controlling. Time, counselling anti depressants and healing of my past helped me over come it eventually though.

Yes, I have moderate to severe OCD that often makes my life hell, and involves intrusive thoughts.
I wouldn't wish OCD on anyone.
Note, all you people who are saying 'I line up my paperclips lol'. You do not have OCD! OCD causes severe anxiety. Only if you panicked hugely every time you couldn't line up your paper clips would you have OCD.

Yeh - have had it since say 10 yrs old. Has been better and worse (stress makes it worse, especially emotional stress for me). Prozac has been my saviour I swear - have been on it for years - there may even be better ones (anti-depressants)now. For me cognative therapy etc didnt seem to work. Get on the anti-depressants and I wish you all the luck and happiness you deserve after being through the hell of OCD.

I think so. I HATE odd numbers and cannot cope with them unless they are 3 or 5. I always count things obsessively. I chew the same number of times each side of my mouth and make sure that whatever I do on 1 side of my body eg brush teeth I HAVE to do same number on the other side. Also a bit obsessive about cracks on the pavement. Only realised quite recently that these things are not "normal"behaviour! Plus only talked to my mum about it for the 1st time about 3 weeks ago and found out she has the same issues! - All tins in cupboard have to face same way as well and towels in bathroom have to be exactly straight!
