Do you think the illegal immigrants finally realize that protest marches got them nowhere?

When they organized in the thousands, waving their Mexican Flags and demanded their "rights", American citizens were angered. Americans believe you should wave the American flag, and should go back to Mexico and fix the problems in the county to whom you show your loyalty. Americans believe people breaking our laws to even be here should not become citizens just because they successfully broke our laws. That would be like rewarding a person with a driver's license because they were able to drive for years without one. The net effect of all this Mexican protesting is that now Americans will demand that our immigration laws be enforced, and our border secured.

First, just being in America does not give you the rights of a citizen.

Second, had they waved the American flag instead of the Mexican flag, it would have gained them support rather than animosity.

If you want to be an American....Learn english, apply for citizenship, pay taxes. Dont come here illegally waving your flag like a conquering army and expect us to welcome you with open arms.

I was a hearty member of the hit the street members when I was young. Hey if it weren't for me you'd still be kneeling before your principle getting your skirt measured to make sure it wasn't 2 in above the floor. Forget jeans or shorts or anything else. Granted....I never intended bare breasted halter tops or baggy shorts heldup by impulses.

No...I learned you go directly to the top. I do have to admit it was refreshing but it doesn't work. It doesn't work if you're loud or threatning. More people doesn't mean it's the right thing.

Seriously....I was old enough to be here for the Vietnam war and all that. This move to come out from the shadows and how they carried it out was the perfect example of what NOT to do.

I think most of these illegal's are uneducated and therefore don't come to many realizations about anything. Take for instance the realization that they were actually extorting the American people on the Day Without Immigrants (or whatever joke of a name it was, it should be Day Without Illegal's & Illegal Supporters). They thought they were actually benefiting themselves. They had no realization of how nice of a day it was for real Americans. Only an ignorant fool would wave the flag of another country in America. Only an ignorant fool would proudly wave the flag of a country that they abandoned and that abandoned them. It's all so very pitiful. I can't help but laugh at all the complete and utter stupidity I've seen demonstrated by these people. Some people might wonder, do these people act stupid or is it that they actually are stupid. I'm for the latter.

It did everything they expected it gave them coverage on how they wanted an thought they would get amnesty by showing force in large groups.What they didn't for see was that there arrogance an defiance would alienate the USA citizens to band together in a protest within an Force the Gov to vote the amnesty bill down. Maybe there next walk will be south. Keep up the calls & E/mail close the borders & enforce the laws. No jobs no pay no stay.

La Raza and the waving of Mexican flags definitely defeated this bill for one thing. Immigrants from any country need to learn once here it is they are US citizens not another countries temporarily here till that one can take over the US

I thought it was funny that the protesters were trying to show us how the country would grind to a halt without them. My day was absolutely no different than any other day.

I support legal immigration. It's the people who came here illegally DEMANDING rights that piss me off. I have lived and worked in other countries and I always did so legally. I learned the language of whichever country I was in and respected the people and culture of that country. Crazy ideas, I know...

first, you are confusing illegal immigrants and mexicans. not all illegal immigrants are mexican and not all mexicans are illegal immigrants.

second, protests do work. look at all the people who came out of the woodwork to help them. one senator told me they need to legalize them because it was not their fault the laws were not enforced. i replied" if i raped your wife during a time of civil unrest when laws were not being enforced, you would not want me arrested ?" he didnt answer.

in New Haven Conn. the mayor gave ID cards to illegal immigrants so they could get bank accounts, etc.
then the mayor got mad because ICE raided houses in
New Haven and deported illegal immigrants.

i assume the mayor will also hide bank robbers in his basement if he sees them running from the cops.

protests work.

they failed this time because enough of us fought it, but next time it might pass.

I would have raided the protests. bet ICE would have found a lot of illegal immigrants.

i would also use the ID list New Haven has to round up the illegal immigrants, but that is just me.
