For anybody who is in or has been to college please help me.

I made a schedule for the fall semester and needed to change on class. Apparently, because I requested to change on class my consoler changed ALL of my classes. I was outraged considering NONE of these classes pertain to my major at all!!

I asked her if there was anything I could do and she said I would have to wait until the fall to add/drop classes

my question is.....
has anybody ever done an add/drop class?
I have to drop 3 classes and find 3 new one's in it's place
will this be difficult? And are there normally a lot of choices?

PLEASE HELP!!!

There is a drop/add period that you do have to wait for once you change your schedule. Just make sure you have all your ducks in a row on the first day of that timeframe so you can get it taken care of. Scheduling sucks!!!

if the current date is before the deadline to add and drop classes, you can drop all your classes and add a full semester of classes and that should work with one exception..... often when it comes real close to the add/drop deadline, it becomes impossible to add classes that are all full. However, it makes no sense to take classes that do not pertain nor contribute to your major and are not required classes. if the classes can be used as humanity classes that will count towards your degree, take them. IF they dont count in any way possible, even if you dont get your money back, you might as well drop the classes so you dont waste your money and time. Be careful before dropping classes if you are on financial aid, it could effect your eligibility for continued financial aid in the future. You have to take a pro active approach to your class schedule. schedule an appointment to see your counselor as early as you can and if at all possible have them map out a schedule for the entire next twelve months checking upcoming class availabiliy even though you cannot usually book classes until the semester before. You can often use that map to book classes yourself online and save all the time seeing the counselor and running the risk of the classes filling up. Good luck and make your counselor explain your schedule to you so that you understand what you need class wise and when you should be able to get them. Education is the key to life, keep that in mind.
