What should I do? The strapless bra I have is too small but does go on, it just doesn't fit right. I cannot just go out and buy a bigger one because I need a special size (42 I) which is near impossible to find. I've tried EBAY, and the cheapest I could find was about $90.00 which is way too much to spend for a one time deal. Any ideas on what I should do? I freaking hate this bra and how it makes the dress look on me. What should I do???

have you tried Lane Bryant? You can order online, and I'm pretty sure they do special sizes. When I ordered it arrived in less then a week.

I would spring for a good bra or something that goes under anything because you might need it again in the near future. I think it would be a good investment peice personally, I know I have a couple different strapless bras to go with different dresses. You should buy one that fits great and that will last a while.

Go to a department store that carries undergarments and has a seamstress on staff, try a few bras on and have them help you with getting it to fit without having those buldges around the bands etc... nothing looks worse than that in a nice dress!
But if the cup size still fits, there are bra extenders out there - call JCPenney/Sears/Kmart.
Good luck !

I've been in your shoes. Plus size stores carry 42s. I have purchased bras at Lane Bryant and Avenue, and I think Torrid carries them too.
If it is a short strapless (i.e., 2 hooks, as opposed to one that is your entire rib cage with 12+ hooks), you might be able to find a bra extender. It's a piece of elastic with hooks and eyes that can add a couple of inches to the band size. Try the lingerie section at a nice department store (I'd try Nordstrom if you have one near), or a fabric store might carry them too. Good luck!

I've seen where some models use cellophane tape, there are ways of applying it to lift the breast and make it seem as tho the support of a bra is there when there really is no bra worn. You may be able to do a web search to find out how to apply it.
Check out something called Fashion Forms on Amazon.com or on a google search.
Good luck and have fun.

Do you have enough support to go braless? If you do, you can try what models do and use surgical tape to position your breasts where you want them to be. It doesn't provide as much support as a bra, but it offers some support. Another alternative is to try Roaman's or Lane Bryant catalog sales and if you find something, have it shipped overnight. They specialize in plus size bras and lingerie. Go for cheap since it will only be for one time wear. Oh, and I hope you aren't offended. I'm not assuming you are plus sized. A 42 inch bust is a plus size chest though, no matter what size the rest of you is. And I speak from experience. I'm 42DD.

There will be a store in your area that has a product that can help. It's a bra extender! It hooks in between the bra's existing hooks, just like the bra goes together in the first place.
Most of the time you can find them at sewing stores, lingerie stores or even your local "five and dime".
Look, you can even buy them online!

if the straps are to small add some extra material onto the ends of the bra (i've done that before..)
if the cups don't fit properly i don't know what you could do...
you could take your dress to a taylors and see if they can sew the bra into your dress or sew in some padded cups for support...
good luck!!

Spend the money. You're going to be wearing the dress for the entire day, and you want to be comfortable and have a good time. Can't you use the bra aftewards too? Also, if it makes the dress fit badly, this will be reflected in the wedding pictures.

The only suggestion I would have is to use one of your bras that has the staps and replace the straps w/ a transparent strap sold a local fabric stores. Although they will be noticed up close they will not show up in any of the pictures and are very fashionable these days.

go to a corsetorium. It is a store that specializes in special size bras. They will probably make you a bra, fit it on you. It will cost, but you will have your bra.
