my mom says i can get my cartilage pierced for my 13th birthday this year in october and i have a few questions...
is it true that u shouldnt get it if ur under the age of 16
do u have to get special earrings for it anddd

oh and also...if u clean it properly wouldnt it just be fine like if u WATCH them cleanthe gun properly and i clean it properly wouldnt it just b fine.?

I like "Piercing Pagoda" because it doesn't hurt as bad as "Claire's."

No it's not true. People say that becuase they say you're ear still grows, but no it's not true my moms a doctor i know. You can use any kind of earring you want. It's the same as a regular ear piercing, just up more that's all. I have mine done 3 times in my left ear and i have the industrial in my right ear so i know alot about it lol. I've never got mine done at claires though, so i dont know the quality of their perfromance. Plus claires earrings are often not real gold or silver which could cause an infection on a newly pierced ear. I got my 3 at the piercing pagoda, and my industrial at a tattoo place. Just be careful, to pick a real earring so you won't get an infection! I wish the best of luck to you!

It might be the store's policy not to let people under the age of 16 get pierced there. I'd personally go to a real jeweler to do it though, not some kid in the mall.
I don't think there's special earrings for it, but you have to be absolutely dilligent about watching for infection. That is the single most infected piercing place on the human body, and if it's not caught early (where taking a course of regular antibiotics will get rid of it) you might end up in the hospital getting IV antibiotics, and there have been cases where people have had to have a portion of their ear amputated because the infection got so bad. (And you'd look kinda funny with a chunk of your ear missing.)

It is absolutley okay to get your ears pierced at Clairs! THat,s were i got mine pierced! For the first 6 weeks you have your ears pierced you have to wear studs and clean them every day. If you get your ears pierced at claires they will give you the studs and the cleaning bottle. They also have free ear piercing all year long. You still have to pay for the studs, though. They are about $28.00. It is NOT true that youe shouldnt get them pierced if you are under 16. I got mine pierced when I was 9. Anyway, I hope you have a great time getting your ears pierced!

dont get your cartilage pierced at Claires!!! My sisters friend got hers pierced there and they hit a nerve and she lost ALL feeling in her ear and had to be taken to the hospital...i think cartilage piercings are adorable...just not from Claires! and the under 16 thing isn't true...just be sure to take care of it! regular earrings work in cartilag...just don't put BIG hoops in them because they will get caught on stuff!

no that is not true that you shouldnt get it if your under the age of 16 you can still get it. theres really no special earrings that you have to purchase. you will use the same earrings that you wear on your earlobe. i once had it before but just to let you know you have to take EXTREMELY care of it because it would itch and it takes time to heal so be careful and have fun with it :)

i got mine pierced on my 13th birthday their you will be fine if you clean it properly and i dont think that they pierce it with a special earring

no you usual have to be 14 to get yer cartlage pierced there you dont need special earrings and claires is actually a good place to get your ears pierced. i got 2 cartilage piercings there but they do get infectedd really easily

no it is not true that u shouldn't get it if ur under 16 but u need to be extremely careful when brushing your hair if u get it.
yes you do need special earrings so it fits in the ear properly.
and for added spunk, you might want to consider getting an industrial (bar-type piercing through the cartilage)

naa claires is a good place! i had my ears pierced when i was 7 (about 12 years ago) and their still good.
for a cartaledge its fine to get it done at 13, and no you dont need special earings, i got mine done when i was 18, just DONT go to wal-mart lol thats were i got mine and it closed rather quickly
