i want to build the pika shoes and dont want to buy the generatior online does anyone know where i cant get a negative ion generator like the one in the picture on the pika shoes webpage

The negative ion generator that has an outlet catalyst or sacrificial (carbon) filter will produce little ozone, and no negative ions. Any ionizer produces ozone, and if you keep it clean, it might produce less ozone. So look for one that talks about how to clean it, and it seems easy to clean.

Negative ion generators are a complete scam. When you ionize air, you also create a bunch of ozone and NOx compounds, which is toxic to humans. It will almost certainly make it harder to breathe.
