In public one should pray in the Spriit under one's breath, as otherwise people (not surprisingly) are freaked. Sometimes when I'm bothered emotionally, with issues I can't even understand, the problem resolves quickly after praying thus. It does seem to help one understand the Word more. I have a lot more comprehension of the Word than I used to.

Sorry the modern tongues is not from the Holy Spirit. It is not even biblical. Read Acts chapter 2 and the bible defines tongues as simply a foreign human language that was understood by those from these regions. ?The tongues modern churches practice date back to pagans and the worship of the many pagan Gods.. It was condemned by the early church fathers. A little research is in order here.

Not trying to be mean but you people really need to read the bible on this subject. Bible tongues were human languages spoken by those who had not learned it so therefore it was miraculous. Acts chapter 2 was a direct fulfilling of Joel chapter 2. Study Joel chapter2, Acts chapter 2, 1 Corinthians chapters 12, 13 14 carefully and you find no room for the modern practice of tongues. I find it funny people today claim their ecstatic utterance is the fulfillment of Joel 2 when Peter had already made that claim.

A good documentary movie you all should watch is an old one, but still very enlightening about the tongues movement is Marjoe it came out in 1972.

Sound weird. I'm a Catholic. I'm afraid I don't know what you are. The Holy Spirit is the soul of God and unknowable to humankind. You don't pray to the Holy Spirit except in conjunction with a prayer addressed to the personhood of God.

Yes...I do not force a prayer language, but rather yield when praying or worshipping as the Spirit gives utterance in an unknown tongue.
