The first time he did it was because his litter box was dirty, but now I think he keeps doing it because maybe the scent is still there somehow - How can I get rid of scent and stop this cat from peeing on her bed? It's driving me crazy! THANKS...

Oh, yes, he is neutered - I do keep her door closed, but sometimes she leaves the door open when she playing in there and forgets to close it again (she's only 4!)

Nature's Miracle can be sprayed on the bedspread to remove the urine odor, but it also needs to be removed and washed. You might just need to get rid of the bedspread, and spray the matress with NM. NM really works great on urine odors. You can buy it at PetCo or PetSmart.
For awhile, you might also need to shut off the bedroom to the cat, to discourage the habit. It would be a good idea to add another litter box, also, in case you have a particularly finicky cat. I would also recommend buying `No Mark!' spray at the pet store while you're there. It's a cat pheromone spray that helps mellow cats out - it's worked really well on a headcase I have.

Also, if your cat isn't neutered, he needs to be, and that will discourage urinating in places he isn't supposed to.

Mrs. Milkshake, you CANNOT let a de-clawed cat outside! They have no way to defend themselves. You need to bring the cats back inside or call the SPCA to come get them. Odor problems are very solveable if you simply try to find a solution.

Don't let the cat in the bedroom.

If you are unwilling to do that, you can go to the pet store and they have numerous cleaners that are supposed to get the scent out. Sometimes they work. Sometimes they don't. Changing the mattress might help, too, but if the cat has it in its head that this is an ok spot to go, then about all you can do is keep the cat out. And definitely make sure the cat box is clean! We scoop ours out daily. Only take a few seconds.

Put the cat to sleep. Let it outside. My favorite and first cat in the whole world peed on me every day as I grew up but I loved her and wouldn't let my mom kill her. Buy a new bed and sheets. There is no saving it. I grew up and have 5 cats all declawed and inside. Somebody came over and said the house smelled really bad and we were immune to it. The cats are now loving life outside and only come in to visit for about an hour in the evening. Do something fast or you could spend years cleaning sheets or hurt the cat because you get frustrated. They do it for a reason. Try replacing the sheets or cleaning the old ones in the washer with vinegar and plastic covering the mattress. Keep the box clean. They make sprays but not sure if they work. Good luck.

If the cat has done it in the bed the scent will remain there FOREVER whether you can smell it or not the pet can still smell is and will associate that bed with the restroom. Get rid of the bed.

Use a cleaner that has enzymes in it. Like Nature's Miracle. You can find lots of good cleaners to take care of the urine smell at pet stores. Natures Miracle even has a laundry detergent that you can find at Petco.
