I see it as a waste of time to watch people drive in circles for a couple of hours. well not just nascar I don't like any racing I would rather drive then see others drive, just go stand out on the side of a highway and watch cars drive by and set a winning point, its the same thing.

I could probably drive at 160+ not saying that its incredibly easy but john cena is doing it and so are a few other random people so im pretty sure i can do it, but i would think it could be kinda fun to do, not for 2+ hours but for a bit.

Boring as watching paint dry. Drive, turn left, drive, turn left, repeate ad nauseum.
Like the freeway at 5pm.

A lot of people think they can drive fast and handle it. You see them going out of control in the police videos we all laugh at.
Yes, more skill and daring seems to be demonstrated on an F1 course or in Le Mans/GT racing wherein braking, hard turns and narrow tracks are part of the spectacle, still, with car to car contact and NASCAR vehicles being so closely matched in performance, the race becomes about the drivers, and the skill of those drivers becomes evident.
I don't consider commercial wrestling a sport and I don't think any auto racing league is scripted. Know the difference between entertainment and sport.

i dont' see how people like you dont' like Nascar! evidentally you've never been to a race before? you really have to be wooting for someone to enjoy it. I love any and every kind of racing its in my blood. I see that you say they just drive in circles but they are driving in a circle with 42 other drivers and going up to 200 mph. they aren't just driving. they are managing a car trying to beat the guy in front of him off pit road to gain spots. Setting a winning point isn't the same thing not even close unless you say that the first one to this line gets some kind of prize then its not the same!

Give it more time than just a couple minutes, and you'll see why. Pick a driver at random, and see what happens to him during the whole race.
Driving on a highway is NOTHING compared to a race.

Any fool could drive at 160mph if they have a car that will run that fast. But put them on a mile and a half track with turns and 42 other drivers inches away on both sides and we'll see how long you'd last. Plus it usually isn't 160...it's more like 200mph.
lf you find NASCAR that boring, then why do you even bother talking about it? Go to another catagory where the rest of the little kids post questions.

I kind of see your point. But you aren't inclined to like it, so it will always seem trivial to you. I am the same way with golf. I like to see in close whether they can make a putt or not. But as far as driving a quarter mile away, then walking, and all the jibbajabba of commentators... it's excrutiating televiewing. (- - - And don't even get me started on how slow I think baseball is.)
And yet... I can understand people liking any of these sports.

My, my... aren't we ignorant today? Look, if it's not your cup of tea, go drink something else. I don't have an interest in Nascar or football or basketball or most sports except tennis, wrestling, and beach volleyball, but that doesn't mean I go around saying that football and basketball are BS. All sports take skill, and frankly, if you can't drive at 200+ MPH without crashing, then shut the f*ck up and watch something else!

No, its not just that....it's because there are some tricks too! Like drifting...which is really cool...fast cars racing at really high speeds with their families watching. They like it so we might as well respect it.

I agree, I would rather watch two people have a sit up contest then sit and watch 2 mins of a Nascar race.
