My church has collected around $1500 this month of June for disaster relief that will go to people living not only in the US but worldwide (this money is for disasters like floods, tornadoes, but also for ongoing disasters like people not having clean water or sanitation.) This money helps all people, no matter what their religion. Is this "nutty"? And can I reverse the question to you in a kind way - what are you doing to help people living in disaster areas all over the world?

Taking the words of their prophet Jesus, and twisting just about everything to make something different than he wanted. Jesus tried to reform Judaism. But the Jews wanted a military messiah, and Jesus didn't go for that. He certainly did not want to start a new religion. His followers started the Jesus movement and that led to Christianity.

Lotsa good and lotsa bad stuff. I'm O.K. with throwing the baby out with the bathwater in this case, though.
