I have only one explanation: the story is a myth, I wonder who came up with it, it's crazy

"But for Adam, no suitable helper was found. So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and brought her to the man."
(Genesis 2: 20b - 22, NIV © 1983 by Zondervan Corp.)
Notice what this doesn’t say. It doesn’t say anything about how many ribs Adam had before or after this “surgery,” and especially it says nothing, whatsoever, about how many ribs Eve had! Nowhere does it say that Eve had more ribs than Adam. Who made that assumption without checking? Wouldn't it be just as logical to guess (also without checking) that if she was created “second” that God might have made her with the same number of ribs as the new, reduced number that Adam now had? Wouldn’t it really be more logical to guess that God might have created her with the same number of ribs as Adam just to avoid confusion? Genesis doesn't say one way or the other, so the only way to know is to cut open cadavers and start counting. Who has done that — the theologians or the biologists? My guess is that, once again, if human misinterpretations are set aside and if it is remembered that theology looks at “why” while science looks at “how,” there is no “conflict” between what the Bible, itself, is saying and what biologists know to be true about our bodies.

Why do you test our patience ?
In reading it I detected some sarcassim in your question.
God does not steal, what is already His to start with.
You don't know that but, God Almighty is with a big "G" not a small "g" out of respect, since we are not talking about just any old god here.
If this is a question that really bothers you deeply, then why is it that you are not seeking answers through God himself?
Who are you to ask such questions and demand answers from Christians, that only God himself can answer?
Are we the creators of the heavens and earth?
Likewise...
Does the limited minds of science contain all the answers to the universe for you as well?
Can you explain things that you did not create, such as detailed information that is built into and Atom and how it got that way or a how a cell knows when to split?
Are you trusting in science?
I doubt it ...if your looking to harass or truly are seeking answers to questions about God, then take it to God.
Let's see what " He" has to say, by putting effort on your part in finding a good Bible teaching church, that will gladly take you through the whole Bible, from cover to cover. This book is so detailed that one can never get all of it in one trip through. Everytime you go through it, God reveals more information. It can not be understood without having the Holy Spirit inside to help guide either.
No heathen, pagan or unbeliever can fully understand unless they have the the Holy Spirit within.
Are you serious about knowing the answer?
Then may I suggest you get on your knees before God and pray.
He knows whether your heart is genuine or not and whether He will answer you or not.
Christians have far better things to do with their time than to bicker back and forth and be harassed by those looking to degrade something they know nothing about and frankly doesn't care to.
It is a waste of our time and efforts to beg a hard hearted person who is lost and stubborn in his ways,to believe anything God has to say.
God tells us not to throw pearls to swines.
Time is valuable and so is God's Word, more valuable than pearls. Yet it is given and always available for all who seek to learn more about Him.
Regardless of what happens... He still remains on the Throne till that day when He comes and then "Every Knee Will Bow," and none, not one ,will remain standing.

Taking a rib out of your body wouldn't change your DNA. Thus your son would have the code for the full number of ribs. (I don't believe in the story, but your question is flawed.)

The Answer is simple, Adam was perfect and in being so he grew a new rib.
But tell me how you explain the Great Prophet and his Child bride?

Have you seen Adam's skeleton to verify he still had all of his ribs?
Just because one was taken from him that doesn't mean it was a genetic change.
Beyond that - wasn't there so I can't say for sure outside of my faith.

............ Numb nuts..... Look if I had my arm cut off, a future son would not be born with one arm. In the same way if I lost a rib a future child would not be born with one less rib.

I respect anyone's beliefs that they choose to hold, but to me its more evidence that its all stories and folklore that has been passed down, but not necessarily interpreted now in the way it was originally intended.

pssst, it didnt really happen, there is no way God could've performed a surgery like that with no anaesthesia or assistance. I dont know if Eve ever finished nursing school, but really. What if God needed some water or another pair of hands, is he just going to let Eve assist knowing that she in not fully prepared to go into major surgery?
