Yeah, it is distracting and alarming.
If you are young - I guess it can be ok - and make others in your group laugh harder .... but in a real job and just generally walking along (say in a mall) it is too loud and disruptive and shows a lack of control.
Try to concentrate if you do snort .... and teach yourself another laugh - it may sound petty, but a snorting laugh could cost you a promotion at work.

It is not "bad", but I have to admit it is "awkward" to watch. For some, it is also uncomfortable - if the snorting occurs by accident then there isn't much that can be done, but if can be controlled then by all means please do so.

I don't think so. One of best friends does that all the time. It only makes all the rest of us laugh harder. It's crazy, but fun!
