If not, why not? Does it seem ridiculous? Try using that same scrutiny on the rest of the bible, and you too will atleast be agnostic by weeks end. Just give it a whirl, go ahead and question the jewish written man made bible. It wont kill you.

God wont cry, I promise, Jesus wont grimace I swear, and the red devil wont cheer.

The bible doesn't mention the Devil as being red, or having a tail, nor carrying a pitchfork. Like God, he is not described physically. There are descriptions of demons in revelations, but many think they are metaphorical. I'm not too worried about it either way. I have accepted Christ into my life, and unless you want to see what Satan really looks like, I would suggest you do the same.

I see the devil as many disguises, such as a value system based on gross consumerism...single parent familes...gays which bed down with anything with a pulse...cynics which bash God, but have no problem suppying violent video games to their children, driving a suv/truck yet moaning gas is too expensive, making $10/hour, and living paycheck to paycheck and working very hard going NO where yet refusing to get a higher education, keeping up the Jones...

to name a few sides of evil, or add a D to evil, and you have Devil.

Kindness does not always come in the form of a Pixie Fairy...sometimes in comes in the form of a Cruise Missile which can destroy evil.

Myth Theology is where we get the devil in the red suit with horns, tail and pitchfork. That same Myth Theology gives us angels with wings and a halo.

The bible says the devil "comes as an angel of light", it says he, "prowls the earth like a lion" and that "he comes to kill, steal and destroy."

Obviously you haven't read the bible with any scrutiny or at all.

That's actually just a cartoon representation of him....it says nothing of Satan's appearance in the Bible.

Since Satan (or Lucifer - as he was originally called) was supposedly the most beautiful angel in Heaven, I would think he hasn't changed much.

Some might think he would look grotesque because of being a fallen, evil angel....but sin, and its Lord has to be tempting or seem right, beautiful, etc. to commit it, no?

Heh....no I'm not Christian. I just felt like answering. I like to read religious texts.

I don't see him that way. Why? Because sin looks good and Satan was probably the most beautiful angel. And what is supposed to seem ridiculous? I'm not going to be agnostic, because I've already examined other religions, and Christianity is the one I'm going with.

Hello,

No, if there were one, why would he come as a frightening, hidious image to scare his victims off. No, being the master of deceit it is logical to assume he would appear as a mico miniskirted Elizabeth Hurley type as portrayed in the movie Bedazzeled; how that would easily catch so many souls.

christians dont picture him that way.... he has been given that image by a number of different entities mostly to put an evil horrifying face on him..... as the story goes, god made him the most beautiful, wise, best etc. he became jealous and all that other stuff and was sent to hell for eternity.

I have never pictured the devil as red, tail or pitchfork... I just think of him as very dark....

That image of Satan has always cracked me up. Besides, if you are a Christian and read your bible, it clearly says that Satan was one of the most beautiful of all angels. That's why hell is full of fire and brimstone, he's HOT!!!
