Hello all! I pray that you are doing well today. I have been studying the different names of God and it is really fascinating!! Today I would like to share with you one of the names that I have learned.
Adonai: Lord and Master
It is very important that we know Him as Master.
In the days of Abraham, a bondservant or slave was far better off than a hired hand, because his master provided for him totally. It was the masters duty to protect and care for his slave according to his need. The master even provided direction in his day to day living. Slaves of the Hebrews were considered members of the household and were even allowed to participate in the Passover after they were circumcised. Even Gentile slaves were given this right.
Oh dear friends, think about our Lord, our Master, is He not over the earthly masters? If the masters in Abrahams time took complete care over their slaves will not our master take complete care over us? The answer is YES, dear ones.

When we acknowledge Him as Master, then we are also allowing Him to take complete control over our lives.

many names, I choose the "One". ( I just wonder how I am referred to ? what is the One's name for me?) the "names" are given by people, I think "I Am" appears in Revelations. most names describe character, but few give us the feeling of "freedom" which the One wants us to have. On the day of judgment, will we be judged on "believing" or "faith" or what we did with the life we were given. Did we bring joy into the world through kindness, or art. I sometimes have a vision that the One will ask, "Did you become yourself?" if so, play me a song, or speak a poem, paint a picture, or tell me a good story. To "know" the One is intimacy. find the true meaning of the word "know", maybe a "personal name" will come to you that you will use when in solitude. I rarely call my wife by her real name, it seems rude or "un-intimate". Names of affection are more personal. I have very personal names for the One. Thanks for sharing, may peace of the "One" be with you.

[Yaweh]

The name by which God revealed himself to the ancient Hebrews (Ex. 6:2, 3). This name was spelled "hwhy" (the Hebrew equivalent of "YHWH") and is known as the Tetragrammaton (meaning "four letters"). Jesus also took upon him many desciples from less than respected walks of life, some of them fisherman. Remember Matthew 4:19 "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." He not only was a master of men, he was a master of fishing. That would mean he tought his skill of fishing to his desciples, as master baiters, and master fishers of mankind.

Oh ye scared child, run thouest to thine master and speakth upon him such that thou doest speak to thine self. Blah, blah, blah. I am not a scared child looking for a master. Do your stylized rituals please THE MASTER? Do they keep away THE SATAN? Are you that afraid of the unknown?
