all this sound good but they have a very large avairy pen and there is only 6 total three males and three hens. the only feathers they are picking are the ones around the bottom area. or they will pick feathers off the ground and eat them too. they are not aggressive about it they just casually walk up and atempt to groom the other but walks away with a little fluff feather.

Your birds have turned into "cannibals". This is especially common with pheasants. If you have too many birds in one area that they feel isn't big enough, they will pick on each other until enough die that they feel they have enough room to live. I would suggest moving the birds into a bigger area and separating the ones picking from the ones getting picked on. If they have any sores from being picked at, put some triple antibiotic ointment on it so that it doesn't become infected. This should solve your problem. Let me know if you need any additional help or information.

Are they actually ripping the feathers out? If so - this might be a sign of stress/aggression resulting from a few different things like mating, not enough space, competition for food, etc. Maybe you need a bigger enclosure or have too many birds together and it's causing them stress.

They are missing a phytonutrient called MSM. Do a google search on "MSM Nutrient." Their is a company in Oregon who originally brought this to the market years ago called Rich Distributing (877-245-5742) or www.richdistributing.com. I trust these guys and their products are great. Add a little MSM to their water or sprinkle in on their food. The problems will go away. I use it on my birds, dogs and myself. It works awesome!
