Are you kidding? If not, then it is the embryo of a bird. When you are talking about the ones people eat, they are usually from the chicken, although other kinds can be found in specialty stores, such as ostrich and quail. But if it comes from the A&P, it is chicken. It is a protien. Most eggs bought at the supermarket are unfertilized. (The rooster never gets to the hen, so the egg had no chance to become a chick.) There are some (not many) vegitarians who will eat unfertilized eggs, because they never were and never could be alive.

not a veggie. it is a calcium shell with protien and embryo, a chick will hatch in a fertilized egg, we eat them unfertilized as a rule....
hens must lay just like dairy cows must be milked
