A 'lady' called Smiley posted a very controversial question that I was following but it has disappeared. The question was that she thought the english were right and she was equal and so she wanted to wear a veil stating that 'no white infidels should approach her' or very similar to this. She said that she felt uncomfortable when men outside her faith and race approached her and her question was should she do this.
It was an interesting question to follow as looking at the photograph she had posted, she was very glamorous. The whole thing made for an interesting thing to follow. I and many other people spent a great deal of time answering but it just seems to have disappeared....

Also when you answer a question how long does it remain on your profile for. I have quite a lot now and I would like to lose some of the resolved ones.
I am quite new to this and would appreciate any info you can give me to make it worth my while using 5 points :)

Very interesting. I wasn't worried about losing the points. It was more her response to the answers really. She has also responded to a question which asks something like 'Do you believe that the English are too polite and politically correct to the point that it is insincere' or similar. She responded that she found them savage and I was more curious about this interesting and clearly angry person. Perhaps I need to get on with my housework eh :)

Well actually for those of us curious about the individual the question i refer to in my notes is in general-society and culture & is asked by a person called Swish.
Smiley actually answers 'they are not that polite, they are quite bi-polar- sometimes polite, sometimes savages.I am not a 'stalker' she just facinates me, how do you get sooo angry. Shame there is not a forum to debate, that would have my attention :).

I see whay you guys mean. I put a question & just asked people to answer. I said I wanted to see if I could get 1000 replies. I only had 8 but the question disappeared. Surprised me as there are some really crude and rude ones left. Ah well it was all to learn anyway.!!

Yahoo raptures questions that people report. It's a silly system.

An answer should remain on your profile forever. (If the question is deleted, it will disappear though...)

Hope this helps!

I have had numerous questions and answers just dissapear, with no notification. I don't think I've ever been ruder than calling an idea immature.
I don't know the process, but have also seen other q and a's dissappear. and more often than not they were interesting, and controversial, or with a point well put.
And why worry about losing 5 points, you'll never get near the top unless you have a very sad life. I am embarrassed at having even moderate points for that reason.

Hello,

Some questions do disappear if they have certain racial or ethnic slurs. This one did not and I answered it as well. I must confess that I get really pissed off when this happens since I often put a lot of work, time and thought into the answers.

All I can do at this point is to remember their names or cyber id's and not answer their questions anymore.

Racism is racism. It doesn't matter which race is instigating it.

The question was most like reported and deleted for that reason.

Once you ask a question it stays on your profile forever, unless Yahoo decides to delete them after awhile. Your questions and answers technically become property of Yahoo Answers.

Since when is "white infidel" not a racial slur?

I really don't know who is in control or doing the editing in the Yahoo customer care,

I find it irritating when people send a violation on your answer, whcih truthfully is out of control. These people don't use the thumbs down or thumbs up...........they go right to the violation.

Anyways, I have had violations sent and when I go back to the question..........it's removed. I find it odd that I get a violation for my answer, but then the question is gone.

So who knows how anything is corrected in this "Yahoo Answers"..........it seems they have a lot of imperfections to resolve.

NO white infidels did it...that's why it disappeared...You can't call people names like that here..when you answer a question is will stay there forever, unless it gets deleted....but you still keep the points.

THAT'S THE ONLY REL PROBLEM I'VE SEEN ON THIS SITE. THE CHRISTIANS GET OFFENDED REAL EASILY, & THEY'LL GONG YOUR QUESTION OR YOUR ANSWER IN A HEART BEAT. PERSONALLY, I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THE VARIOUS POINTS OF VIEW. THAT'S WHY I'M HERE OF Q/A, BUT THERE ARE OTHERES WHO DO NOT SHARE THE SAME THOUGHTS.

I know that sometimes, I have asked questions, and once I got a few answers, I deleted the question.

Questions/answers get deleted cause people are very touchy. I don't care about q/a as long as you keep your things into your own yard.

censorship....

if you want those resolved questions to dissapear, mark your q and a as private. only you and your contacts are gonna see them.
