A*R*S*E is not a swear word. You'll find that many words are censored simply because they mean something 'naughty' in USA English.
Capital letters apparently mean you're SHOUTING, but since I can't get italics or underlines when on Yahoo answers, how else can I EMPHASISE something?
I think you'll find you can use the word ***.
Just did a spell check - seems you can!
No, you can't - the word was a*s*s - for the USA citizens, that's a perfectly acceptable alternative word from donkey.
And anyway, we all sit down sometimes. What do people from the USA sit on? Their bottoms, their sit-upons, their btms, their behinds? Well, they must sit on something - and I'm certain the phrase 'I'm gonna kick a*s*s,' (meaning 'I'm going to find out who's responsible and make sure he knows about it', originated in the USA.

The people who own this site want things done their way. It is the right of the owners to decide what goes on here. Not to be rude, but if you don't like it, start your own site and allow cursing. There are certain things you would not be allowed to say in my home. I would make you leave if you said them or were rude beyond what I would tolerate. Are there things you would not allow in your home? Say a man defecating on your couch? So you do believe somethings are not OK. Yahoo just draws the line of "what is acceptable" in a different place than you. No offense intended.

because some people find these things offensive. you have to learn to respect other people apparently. you writing in CAPITAL LETTERS would be you 'forcing' them to look at your question and they might not agree with swearing especially if their children use this site and someone is swearing. I can see what the argument is but i really dont see the point of this when i havent seen anything on here thats worse than anything i learnt when i was playing with my friends as a kid.

It may be a part of the english language, but it is not an accepted part of the english language in polite society.

I find bad language offensive. But worse still, it makes conversation so tedious and extended.
It may punctuate your conversation/message, but it is really only your expression of frustration. It is meaningless to me.

Censorship and Freedom of Speech? Censorship and freedom of speech ends
OR
should end when it becomes morally offensive. In general, the same people, who talk about freedom of speech, are the same ones who freely spew all the vile filth out of their mouth and/or CD and radios as loud as they can.
WHAT ABOUT MORAL PEOPLES RIGHTS?
AND I'M NOT TAKING ANY OF THAT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
