Pro's:
No one but you or a Superior Court Judge can request a copy.

Con's:
It's more difficult for even you to get a copy later.
Where I live, it's more expensive to file.

it isn't a matter of pros & cons really -

if you choose a confidiential license, if it is even available in your county, you first and foremost have to have been living together for a period of at least one year, have to get married in that county, within 30 days and the license can only be viewed by the husband & wife.

a regular license you can be married anywhere in the state and the license is available for public viewing.

Why would you want to?...If you want it to be confidential....then maybe you should look at the pros and cons of your marriage

I suppose I would wonder why you wanted to hide such a wonderful thing as getting married.... I thought that sort of thing was only for movie stars.

If you're in California, it's just quicker & you can skip blood tests & waiting period.
