I wouldnt suggest it since you are already getting threats from your parents about religion and going to church.

a 17 year old can like anyone they want but there are factors that have to be addressed. can the 17 year old relate to a man of 26's mentality, desires and expectations? or can a 26 year old change his life to be with a 17 year old because there are things that with that age difference you both cannot do.
I would be cautious but think about it, he is 26 now and you are 17. in 20 years, he will be 46 and you will be 37 and that's not too much of s spread. Also remember when the 17 year old hits 21, she is going to want the parties and friends and he will be a bit old for that scene.

Yes, it is highly possible for a 17 year old to fall for a 26 year old. Be aware that it is illegal for this young man to have an intimate relationship with you. You must be 18 and please be up front with him about this. There is a huge difference in life experience between the two of you at this point. He was 17 almost 10 years ago. Your ideas are very diverse. This is probably the reason he is not giving you the time of day. Allow him to be a gentleman and walk away. Don't flirt with him or try to draw attention to yourself. Look for someone a little closer to your age at this point in your life. Go out and have fun and do the things a 17 year old should be doing with her peers.

You can like him all you want. However dating him is a whole other story. You two would have nothing in common. There is a very big difference in maturity level between a 17 year old and a 26 year old. He's closer to 30.

If you like him then you should wait a year see what happens once you turn 18, he may see you in a different way. But for him it is too risky anyhow to get involved with you. A 9 year difference is really not that bad, but I would wait it out a while if you are still friends then it should all work out if not then you know you didnt do anything to get him into any trouble or yourself. So try to be patient and it should all work out. If you do not want to wait well, then see what he says and then go from there.

You can like him all you want but he should not have any interest in a young lady as young as you are. Nothing good comes from a man in his late twenties and a young teenage girl. Most men that age want a lady their own age and into grownup stuff. A man who would want a young girl like you only wants someone they can control, have sex with and push around. Trust me, your to young, this is the best time of your life .... find a guy around your age and have puppy love, go to country fairs, and football games at school. The proms and basketball. Study dates. All that stuff is way beyond a twenty seven year old man

I see no harm in liking the guy, they're your emotions, so if you like him, you like him...
However if you want to ask him out (or be the one to be asked to), well, you have to be careful. First of all, I suggest wait till you're legal (18+), not jail-bate for the guy. Age does cause a factor in relationships, tho, because he might not be into girls your age (well once you turn legal I mean). Plus, a difference in age such as that may suggest different experiances and mentalities of both persons.
Just a thought... good luck.

wait until 18. then be open about the situation w/ him if he feels the same. But keep in mind he's had a lot more relationship experiences and they might be new for you. Ex. it might be routine to walk in the park for him w/ gf but you might think he is so romantic and sincere. You can get hurt my misreading what is a normal dating behavior over true love. But the actual age difference can be joyful. My hubby is 11 years older and i enjoy the security and stability. He wasn't playing games and was open and honest before we got emotional- that makes a big difference on intentions.

Girl My Advise is to take it slow,
There is nothing wrong with liking someone a little older than you,
but Just be his friend and see what happen's maybe he think's of you as a sister not someone more than that.
But you never know, you don't have to rush into anything if he want's you let him run after you, don't/never go after the guy espeacial someone older, if he really like you, he will flirt with you and would want to spend time with you.
But you have all the time in the world so let him run after you.
Hope It helps.

He is not an idiot, yes he finds you attractive, but a pervert would continue on. get a grip here. If a girl 17 found a 12yr old attractive, would she go for it? Same exact stupidness. Why would she not go for someone closer to her own age. Right! Now you brain is turned on-----Cause shes a pervert who can't get someone her own age and she can manipulate him. Keep growing up till 21, then find your 31yrold prince.

Can yes, should? The age difference is 9 years and your pretty young, but when you turn 18 you can do what you want. I would wonder why this guy doesn't want girls his own age or at least a little closer.
