Matt 5:3 states “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.
Jehovah gives everyone on earth the opportunity to gain everlasting life. To have eternal life in Paradise, however, we must worship God properly and live now in a way that is acceptable to him. Sadly, many refuse to do so. That is why Jesus said: “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.” (Matthew 7:13, 14) True religion leads to everlasting life. False religion leads to destruction. Jehovah does not want any human to be destroyed, and that is why he is giving people everywhere an opportunity to learn about him. (2 Peter 3:9) Really, then, the way we worship God means either life or death for us.

People seem to have an innate need to believe in God, or something bigger than themselves. Worship serves several purposes. It allows people who believe alike to gather together and encourage each other's beliefs. It reassures people and makes them feel better. If there is a sermon or study of scriptures, it teaches people about their faith and gives them something to think about.
If you ask people who like to attend worship services, they'll tell you it just makes them FEEL better.
Also, some religions believe that God -wants- them to gather together to worship him, that attending services is required of the faithful.

In my opinion it helps us to quit thinking about ourselves for a little while and focus on the one worthy of our attention. If God revealed all His power to us I guarantee not one person would or could think up any dumb questions.

Do your loved ones not cherish the times when you share love? It's the same with God and His children.

[al-Baqarah 2:138] Such is GOD's system, and whose system is better than GOD's? "Him alone we worship."
we worship Allah because He created the perfect system, and gave us Qur'an as a guide. We worship to show our gratitude, and acceptance of His perfect ways.

To stroke the ego of a divine entity in the hopes of recieving favors, rewards, or other forms of positive reinforcement. To get followers to donate goods and cash to temples and churches. To allow a self-appointed speaker for a "deity" to tell you how to act, work, and believe.
