I once saw an extremely graphic WW II war bonds poster. It showed a Nazi soldier holding an infant by the ankles and violently swinging the child's head against the corner of a stone building. Brains and blood were dripping down the wall and there was a pile of dead babies at the soldier's feet. That's the image I see in my mind's eye when I read that scripture. The juxtaposition of Biblical scripture and Nazi atrocities reminds me that their is little difference in principle between fascism and organized religion.

In a modern context, I remember a young officer who witnessed the killing of innocents. He turned his guns on his comrades. He was ostracized, drummed out of the service, and shamed for many years.

Today, he teaches as our most prominant military academy. His words, and his actions reach the young.

Perhaps you have learned something from the scripture, other than the obvious. Shattered is an appropriate word...

This hasn't happened yet. This is the wrath of God. For us who are redeemed, we are saved from Gods wrath. This happpens after the antichrist, beast & false prophet reign. When mostly those left on the earth are antichrist. God will pour His wrath on those who destroy His creation. The wrath of God is further explained in Revelation.

But there is also the combination of a judgment on Babylon. And Babylon has already been judged in History, but there is another Babylon judgment in Revelation also.

You seem to be having a lot of trouble understanding today. If I may suggest. Reading the entire book within context and asking God to reveal it's message to you. Or you can get a good study Bible. Maybe even join a Bible study group.

What a wholesome family oriented verse. No wonder people choose to be religious. Look at those values. Whew. I'm impressed.

That's the "god of love" talking through his prophet

If a world leader talked like that today about going to war against another country it would be considered criminal

"Dashed to pieces" conveys about as much love and benevolence as the word "ravished".

It means what it says.

But God loves them. But then he also loves the smell of burnt offerings. I am surprised that the Israelites never though to combine the two.

"Dashed to pieces" means beaten until bloody and coming apart. Religion is cruel.
