Please help!, my computer comes up with a problem, read on...?

on the internet, when ever i click on links or type in an address an error comes up which reads.....

this file does not have a program accosiated with itCreate an accosiation in the Folder options Control Panel

could this be a virus, or somthing wrong with the settings

Not a virus, it's that your trying to open for example a pdf file, but don't have adobe acrobat to open it with.

Basic computer knowledge issue.
