well, here's how i see it. we don't need to ASK for forgiveness *technically*, because Jesus died for us and wiped out ALL of our sins --> Past, Present and Future.

and yes, technically it is true that no matter how bad u are, or mistakes that u make or have made, thru Jesus' blood we are Cleansed.

*however*.... if u have truly understood this, and gone thru a
Transformation (literally turn around 180 degrees, change in your life from old to new), and are able to REJOICE in this sacrifice Jesus has made...the only way to truly Thank Him (imo), is to LIVE a Good Life. continue to work and change and seek Good, Positive, Healthy, Happy and Right things. in order to glorify God, and show the world what Jesus has done for your life.

if u think u can just keep sinning and doing whatever u want w/o a care in the world.. i don't think u have really understood and accepted (for yourself) that in order to Thank someone who has sacrificed His life for you, u CAN change your life. u don't Have to, but i know I want to. it's a personal decision i think we all have to make. and also, i think it better to stop wondering about technicalities, or if another person will go to heaven or not cuz of this or that. just worry about your Life on Earth, here and now. what can u be proud of for yourself? if u continue to party and not care and be rude and mean and selfish and still be Proud of urself, by all means, no one can judge you here.

take this example: what if u were a screw up, and ur dad sacrificed EVERYTHING to help u have a better life. his time, money, his health...to make sure u were taken care of. if u truly were Thankful for his sacrifice, would u CONTINUE PARTYING (cuz u know he'll still love u), or would u MAKE A CHANGE in ur life, to show ur appreciation?

good luck :)

Actually this is a great question- I am glad that you asked it. Christians, I am one, believe that God sent His Son to pay the price that we could never pay so that we can live forever with Him, and also life free from sin- this however does not mean we will never sin again- when we do we have an advocate before the Father, and God will be faithful to forgive 'if we confess and repent"- however I think your question is this- if you did something close to your death that would be considered sin and you did not have time to repent- would you still go to heaven- Yes, because salvation was payed for. However you continue in your sin, because you know you are forgiven- then I don't think you were ever saved in the first place- Salvation is free- but once saved people will desire to live for God.

Hello,

That teaching of once saved always saved no matter what is indeed believed by some of the Christian sects but is considered a false damndable doctrine by the majority of Christians and here is where they part company. They say it contradicts what Jesus taught on earth with regards to treating your fellow man and loving your neighbour. If it were true then one, once re-born and saved has a James Bond type licence to sin with immunity and impunity while on this earth. LOL, Think of those mafia type movies where the mob goes to the baptism mass and communion of the grandaughter, step outside for a smoke break and he sets up an afternoon fling with his mistress whilst ordering a big dope deal along with a contract killing.

As far as forgiveness before you die, this is indeed possible but you must be "truly" sorry and repentent for the bad things you did.

Regards,

Michael Kelly

Confession and repentance are part of the Christian life but they are not necessary for salvation. I would say that your basic idea of if you're a Christian and have accepted Jesus you go to Heaven despite how bad you are is true, but there's more to it. I think that the desire to do good should come naturally with Christianity, and even though we all mess up, confession and repentance are part of it too.

But to answer your question, there are some Christians who believe you can never lose your salvation, and some do. I think if your heart is in the right place and you believe in the Biblical concepts you're going to Heaven, despite your actions. (However your actions will most likely be a reflection of what you really believe!)

No, that's not true. That's the once saved always saved theory.

Jesus mentions hell more then he mentions heaven. If you are truly a Christian, you won't "not ask for forgiveness" because that goes against our understanding of sin and salvation.

It does matter how bad you are. If you are a Christian, and completely believe in salvation through Christ etc. you are not going to go around stealing and lying. If you do, then you are not really a Christian, you are only calling yourself one.

The word does not speak of Christians going to Hell. There is a reference in Matthew 25:30 which speaks of the " useless slave " being case into the outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. This place is not hell in that there is no fire burning eternally and their thirst is not quenched.
This is a place of discipline for the slaves who belong to Christ.. if you are not one who belongs to Christ in the first place you will not be accounted as His slave...All the apostles from Paul to John referred to themselves as " slaves of Christ Jesus"

During the 1000 Year Millenium Reign of Christ on the earth during the Age of The Kingdom those who had not been fully transformed and only lived according to the flesh and loved their soul life more than giving it up to gain more of Christ during the age of Grace.. these ones will be dealt with by the Lord to be ripened by Him....
It is after the 1000 years that that the Lord will reap the " Harvest " from the earth.. .

The Harvest is different from the "Firstfruit " who will be those believers who have been fully transformed by the Lord during the Age of grace and were ready to be raptured BEFORE the tribulation. These are considered the BRide ...who would be those enjoying 1000 years in the glory of God's Kingdom during the Millenium. There is this thought.. " you are a bride for ONE DAY.. and a wife for the rest of your marraige life" In the same way.. 1000 yrs is equalled to 1 day to the Lord.... the Millenium is 1000 years and a bride is a bride for only 1 day:).. works out doesn't it...

As far as " going to heaven' .. the believers who are raptured to the throne do not stay there eternally.. they come back with the Lord to defeat antichrist and reign with the Lord as co-Kings during the Millenium Kingdom... the New Jerusalem on the New Earth is the eternal home of all God's believers...
Check out the way the book of Revelation ends:)

Repentance is part of being Christian. The scripture says:

Luke 13:3 (and Jesus said) I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Repentance is not only confessing and asking forgiveness of sins but turning away from them. If you believe in Jesus, you will follow his teachings which includes repentance.

Darlin - in order to be a Christian, you have to repent of your sins and ask Jesus to come in your heart - submit to him as your Lord and follow him.

Those who simply call themselves Christians because they come to church and nothing else - and have never repented - aren't really Christians.

It's like if I went and sat in the garage of a car dealership.
I could sit there all day and never ever become a car!

There has to be a change - and one of true repentance for the change to take place.

There is time though -

While Jesus told us we had to truly abide in Him - or be cut off from Him... And Paul warned that we should not believe we are immune from being cut off - Jesus told a parable indicating that we would be given time to return to Him... here are the passages:

John 14:23-24 Jesus replied: If anyone loves me, they will obey me. Then my Father will love them, and we will come to them and live in them.
But anyone who doesn't love me, won't obey me. What they have heard me say doesn't really come from me, but from the Father who sent me.

John 15:1-2 Jesus said to his disciples: I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts away every branch of mine that doesn't produce fruit. But he trims clean every branch that does produce fruit, so that it will produce even more fruit.

John 15:5-6 I am the vine, and you are the branches. If you stay joined to me, and I stay joined to you, then you will produce lots of fruit. But you cannot do anything without me. If you don't stay joined to me, you will be thrown away. You will be like dry branches that are gathered up and burned in a fire.

Romans 11:18-21 But don't think you are better than the branches that were cut away. (The Jewish people who reject the Messiah) Just remember that you are not supporting the roots of that tree. Its roots are supporting you.
Maybe you think those branches were cut away, so that you could be put in their place.
That's true enough. But they were cut away because they did not have faith, and you are where you are because you do have faith. So don't be proud, but be afraid.
If God cut away those natural branches, couldn't he do the same to you?

Luke 13:6-9 Jesus then told them this story: A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard. One day he went out to pick some figs, but he didn't find any.
So he said to the gardener, "For three years I have come looking for figs on this tree, and I haven't found any yet. Chop it down! Why should it take up space?"
The gardener answered, "Master, leave it for another year. I'll dig around it and put some manure on it to make it grow.
Maybe it will have figs on it next year. If it doesn't, you can have it cut down."

We are promised over and over in the scripture that no one or nothing can separate us from Jesus - no outwide source can remove us from Him... but those verses above indicate if we were never His - or walked away on our own from being His, and reamined completely away at the time of our death... then at death we could be separated eternally...

We need to struggle against sin and fight to continue walking and growing in Jesus - If we love Him, we will want to obey Him. Those who do not - will not obey and are not His in the first place.

1st John 2:29 You know that Christ always does right and that everyone who does right is a child of God.

I hope this helps dear one.
Peace.

I wouldn't take my chances.... God will judge justly and people who just said the words because they thought it would be like a "get out of jail free" card in monopoly might be unpleasantly surprised. Only God really knows the answer to your question, but I think it's wiser to concentrate on how I could go all out in serving him rather than on what I could get away with and slip into the lowest rungs of the heavenly realm.

No you have been misinformed. One must be truly repentful to receive forgiveness of their sins, if one has not sought forgiveness of their sins and accepted Christ as their Savior they will be judged not only by their works but also by their sins. Those who have repented and asked for forgiveness their sins are forgotten and are only judged on their works.
