that's what dogs do! It is embarrassing, but it's their way of checking people out. You could always put a warning sign by your front door, people would probably find it amusing and they would be prepared for it. Some places also have low-cost spay/neuter programs, you should check into your local shelters, there is no reason not to have a pet spayed or neutered.

Yeah, that sucks. Even when you do get him neutered, he'll probably still do the crotch-and-butt-sniffing thing. My bulldog is neutered, and he still likes to stick his face in embarrassing places. HEaven help my boyfriend if he's just wearing boxers!! LOL. Also, my dog has the really disgusting habit of sniffing and/or licking dirty underwear if he finds it. They just love smelly stuff, they can't help it.
I know it costs a lot, but the sooner you get him neutered, the less painful it will be for him, and the cheaper it will be for you. In the meantime, see if you can get a huge dog crate to at least keep him in when company comes over so they don't have to be violated by him!!

This is the canine equivalent of humans' meet and greet. It's instinct - how dogs greet one another. Hello, who are you, male or female, what did you eat for dinner last night...?
If you know someone is coming over put him in a crate or put on his leash and stand on it. A spray bottle set on stream, squirt him and say "leave it" very firmly when he attempts to sniff.
I strongly suggest an obedience class, the humping is a dominance thing; he is asserting himself as alpha and you are allowing it. HE is in control.

You need behavior modification.
I hate it when animals are ill behaved and have made it a point to not visit some of my friends because I cannot stand their ill mannered dogs. Look online for tips for behavioral training. Discipline is essential.
If nothing else, tie him up or put him in another room when guests visit until you can get him under control.
Best of luck! :)

I absolutely HATE IT when dogs do that. My friend has three dogs (two Vizlas and one Golden Retriever.) I refuse to go into her house because they have really sharp nails and they constantly jump on you and sniff your crotch and butt. The best thing to do is crate them when ANYONE comes over, or else you're going to drive people out of your house.

If you can afford to have company over, you can afford to have him fixed.
Call around.
Some animal shelters do it for cheap.
Get your priorities straight.

make him learn how to sit and stay still before greeting visitors. and make sure he only gets attention if he's sitting still. if he gets up at all, ignore him. :)
