My daughter just got engaged. Her boyfriend had picked up her ring and had in in the ring box in his pocket because he was going to give it to her when they went out of town later that night. They were at a friend's house before they left and were goofing off and she tossed a pillow at him. He didn't think and threw the ring box at her. She didn't even notice and was getting ready to throw it back when her friend said "Wait a minute...is that a ring?" Then she opened it up and saw it. I told her that had to be one of the more un-romantic ways I ever heard of giving someone an engagement ring. However, he did redeem himself later that night by getting down on one knee and making it official. Of course, her father proposed to me as I was being discharged from the hospital, possibly looking worse than I had during the two years we had known each other. So maybe women in our family are just destined for non-romantic proposals!

Did she throw him down the slope?
You know what - the most creative is the least planned to me. My fiancee proposed while I was on the couch in my pj's watching a Jefferson's rerun with a bag of oreos. I wouldn't trade it for anything. But, then, I'm a down to earth woman. Unfortunately some of my gender wouldn't agree because they want the whole romance, dinner, hotel, or else proposal. So beware.

My ex asked me to take out the garbage. When I got outside and was putting the bag into the can, I noticed the ring sitting in a pool of mucky dirty water at the bottom. A note was attached that said, "Wanna be married to trash the rest of your life?" Should that have been a warning?

I asked my bf to marry me in a sneaky way LOL...
We went to Mexico with some friends, but we got booked on different flights, so I hid the ring in his carry on luggage taped to the book he was reading and inside his book was a note that said "Ready when you are"
When we met up in Mexico, he looked like he'd been crying, but he said it was the best thing he could have hoped for
Quirky, but we're quirky people, so it worked for us

Do it on 'Answers'. Pop the question and pick her for best answer. We would all thumbs up you, and I would offer my comments as usual.
Looks like someone already tried it and got the mother-in-law instead:
