Has anyone had a dog read their mind?

My dog knows when I'm going out...how?

Ok some of you have said body lang or signs like picking up keys....however my dog knows long before I do any of that...in fact he knows while I'm eating breakfast...How?

Subtle signs of picking up keys and the way you walk and carry yourself tells a dog everything from go out or going to the kitchen..

My old shih tzu, who's almost deaf, knows when I'm going to unwrap a candy bar. She knows she doesn't get any of it, but it doesn't stop her from trying.
I think your dog knows when you're going out because there are "signs". My chihuahua knows if I have my big purse that I'm going to take her somewhere. I can get it out two hours in advance of leaving and she'll sit right next to it until it's time to go.

Additional:
Routine! The same chihuahua who recognizes the bag knows that if I'm wearing a dress and heels I'm off to work and she doesn't get to go. If I'm wearing jeans she thinks that she even needs to accompany me to the mail box.

Dogs know because they recognize the associated actions.

But there are times when it might seem that the dog does read his person's mind. And there are dogs who can recognize when their people are getting sick, even when the person doesn't. For instance, my mother has a beagle who will sniff her breath when she's about to get a migraine. And when Dad gets sick, that dog will guard him.
